Flashback

Elsie's POV

I am currently now with mina at one of the backseat of the bus.It took a while for me to gather up my words since mina have been quiet as hell right after we go into this bus but when I open my mouth,my mind goes blank.I don't even hell know what to talk about.

I,slowly lean my head against her shoulder.I thought she's going to flinch but she stays quiet and it looks like she did expect me to do this when I'm sad.

As I close my eyes,those bittersweet memory come into my mind.The one and only memory that I can't get over it until nowadays.

-Flashback-

I was on my way back home with jackson giving me a piggyback.I insisted to walk but he didn't let me since I just fell down when we were playing chase and run.

"I shouldn't have been suggesting us to play that game if I know this would happened"
He said,trying to control his heavy breath as he continue on carrying me.I know he's tired by now and I asked him to let me down but he's being stubborn as always,won't let me walk even just one step.

"I'm sorry if I was a burdened for you,brother...I'm sorry that I fell down"
I said to him,I was a cry baby back then but I always try my best to hide it.

"pabo,you're not a burden for me!You're my little sister and it's my responsibility to take care of you so stop crying or I'll smack your head"
His breathing gets even heavier as he talks too fast.

I didn't say a thing afterward and the wall to our house seem so faster than before.

We wondered around the living room,searching for our mom.We've been calling her name but no answer at all.

Then we went to the store at our backyard,when we're about to open the door we suddenly heard our mom talking.

Jackson grab my wrist as we goes behind the store.We secretly heard my mom talking with someone and it sounds like she's talking on her phone.My brother give a signal to keep quiet and I nod.

"of course I miss you too,babe"

Both of us shared a look and continue to listen what my mom going to say.

"okay then you'll be the one going to plan it.The kids?don't worry they know nothing about this"

"does mom and dad going to celebrate something for us?"
I asked jackson but he shook his head as a no.I assumed that the one mom's calling now is dad.

After awhile listening to my mom talking to her phone,We heard the door squeaked open.We remain silent.We heard footsteps walking straight into the house.

I look at Jackson and I notice the changed on his face.He seemed worried,about something.While I don't even know what's going on.

"Jack,Everything's fine...right?"

"what?oh,yeah of course!don't worry about that.Mom must be talking with dad..I'm sure"
Eventho he gave me those smile while patting my head,I still can feel those uncomfortable feeling that both of us are feeling right now.

"now let's go treat your leg.We can't just let it be like that"

"ok!"

With that,we got into the house and been greeted by our mom,smiling at us.

That night....everything went wrong.Dad came home late...Like always,me and my brother will wait for him.He's the type of person that work overtime so sometimes we feel bad for him.
