I smiled at his response. He glanced at me then the road, keeping a blank expression. "O-Okay. I'll message you right before they open so there isn't a long wait." He nodded as he focused ahead of him. he drove up to my apartment and let me off. I waved as he drove away.
I went inside and changed into something more comfortable. I then went into my bathroom and put my hair into a messy bun. I walked into my living room after that and stared at my piano. I contemplated on practicing or just lazing around. Of course, I chose to laze around.
I remembered that I didn't know exactly when the ramen shop next door would open so I went over and looked at the signs they had hanging up in the windows. "Ah, 7 PM. That's pretty late." I read some of the things they had listed on their menu. "So you plan on going to the opening too?" I jumped as I turned around.
I looked up and saw a smiling Jungkook standing behind me. "Oh, hi Jungkook!" I smiled and waved at him. "And, yea I plan on going. Hopefully, their food is delicious." I laughed. "Would you like to come along with me? I originally was going alone but it'd be better with you there." He smiled warmly.
"I'd love t- do you mind if my friend comes along? I was planning on going with him but the more the merrier!" I smiled up at him. "Uh, yea that's cool with me." He flashed a small smile. "Hey, wanna go down for some ice cream? Its warm weather, perfect for ice cream." He smiled again. I nodded. "You had me at ice cream."
We began walking down to the diner nearby. "So, how are your classes going?" Jungkook looked down to question me. "They're good. I have a test coming up soon in one of them and I'm not excited for that but hey, what can I do about it." I shrugged and slightly laughed. "Wanna study at my place? After our ice cream of course."
"Alright." I smiled. Within no time, we reached the white and red painted diner. It had a very retro theme to it. There were red leather seated booths and the floor was black and white checkered. They didn't only sell normal breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. There were milkshakes, ice creams, and all types of desserts.
"Yoongi would love this place." I looked around in awe at the beautifully retro interior. "Who's Yoongi?" I turned to answer him. "My friend. He picked me up last night and he's coming with us to the restaurant." I smiled. I could tell he was upset with the idea. "What's wrong?" I looked at him with concern. "Ah, nothing." He shook his head and smiled.
"Okay then."
I looked down at my chocolate ice cream and smiled before demolishing it. "What is that Yoongi guy to you?" I paused before putting the spoon in my mouth. "He's my piano teacher." I continued to eat the ice cream. "Then why are you bringing your teacher along?" He ate one of the cherries from his Sunday.
"Because I don't want him to only be my teacher. It'd be nice to be friends with him too." I put the spoon down. "Would you ever date him?" I smiled. "What's with the interrogation, Jungkook?" He turned as red as the cherries in his bowl. "I- Um, sorry." He looked down.
"No, no it's fine." I felt bad for making him feel bad, but I didn't like all these questions.
After I finished my ice cream I paid my half and decided to go to my lesson. "Y/n," Jungkook stood outside the door and called after me. "Mind if I join you?" I turned completely around to face him. "Sorry Kookie, it's a lesson." I turned and continued to walk.
"Yoongi?" I walked into the empty building. It was quiet. I decided to look around and see if I could find him. I walked up to the door that led to the room full of pianos and opened it.
When I opened it I saw Yoongi with his face down on the keys of the grand piano. I didn't know if he was okay so I walked up to him and tried to wake him. I shook him in a panic and called his name. "What... The actual... Hell!?" He slowly sat up. "What is wrong with you?" He looked at me with squinted eyes.
"I-I'm sorry. I thought you had passed out or something. I didn't know if you were okay." I backed up. "Well, I'm obviously fine. Why are you here?" He yawned and rubbed his eyes. "M-My piano lessons." He was kind of scary, honestly.
"Is that today?" He stretched and looked up at me. I didn't really know, I just wanted to be here I guess. "Um, yea." He stood up, causing me to look up at him. "Are you lying to me?" And I didn't think he could get any scarier. "N-No." I looked down, I felt like he was staring into me soul. "But I came to learn. And no one is here, so can you teach me or not?" I got a random surge of confidence that I didn't know I had.
"Someone is antsy." He walked over to his folders and picked up the beginners music sheets. "Let's see if you've been practicing." He handed me the folder and I picked out the sheets I felt I'd mastered.
I set the first sheet in front of me and sat down on the small brown bench. I glanced at Yoongi who was still standing. My hands shook a little in nervousness. "Failing is a way of improvement. Don't be nervous, just do it." He had calmed down and his words reassured me.
I placed my finger above the first key and pressed down. "Wrong, look at the notes." I jolted at his sudden comment. He pointed at the first note and I noticed I had pressed the wrong key. "A-ah, I think I got it now."
I placed my finger above the key I believed was right and pushed down. No comment from Yoongi yet. I slowly pressed on the rest of the keys to form the song. "Try pressing the keys a little faster." He now sat next to me on the bench.
I sped up the pace a bit and continued the song. When I finished I nervously glanced at Yoongi. He was smiling at me. "You nailed it." I let out a sigh of relief.
