It felt good to know that you had a name now and no one could disagree that you didn't have one, now that the general had acknowledged it as yours...

For some time, at that stream, you and Hux rested in the trees' shade. There was not much said between the two of you... it was just a moment of shared peace; both sitting and staring up towards the sky, as the sun's rays gently kissed your faces. however, you couldn't help but feel you and him were on good terms... For now, that is.

You watched as a little leaf fell from its branch and wondered how long it would take to fall to the ground. just like how you wondered how long you two were on good terms for. Would it last as long as you two were stuck here? Your mind filled up with questions, not knowing if there was an answer to any of them. Your train of thought continued to brew with unanswered questions until it was interrupted by repressed whimpers coming from the General, who, unfortunately, wasn't having a good time getting up.

You got up and move over towards him, lifting him up onto his feet. "I think it's time we set up camp sir, I'll gather some wood and try to find some flint, and then I'll see what I can do about making those grub traps..." you quietly suggested to him.

He looked at you for a moment like he was about to say something but he opted for a simple nod instead to your request. you smiled slightly at him and lead him over to a nearby rock, where you propped him up against it.

It was strange to be the one with the plan. As someone who usually tended to follow them, this was quite a refreshing take on your part.

...

You were walking back from the woods, with an assorted bundle of sticks, varying in sizes. You managed to find plenty of tinder and wood while also setting the traps in the time the general had finished organizing the supplies. There was however a slight problem as finding flint was an impossible feat to do while you were out, so you decide to head back to camp to where the General seemed to now be occupying his time by gathering rocks and forming them into a fire pit.

"I thought you'd be resting while I was away sir...", you say walking up to him. he glanced up at you, not making any sort of smile or any sign of gladness really. "Well...I'm not someone who stands idly by while there's possible work to be done..." he grumbles back in reply.

You hummed in reply before dumping all the tinder into his pit and sat down without thinking about it too much.

The General looked at you annoyed by how you careless you tossed the wood onto his perfectly made fire pit, but you were too busy trying to take off your boots that you didn't even see his disgust. when you did get a chance to look at him he simply shook his head and started rearranging the tinder into a tepee. as you relaxed, you didn't realize that general was almost done with arranging the firewood; his reply for getting your attention back was more of a question than a remark, and very much about something else.

"Where's the flint?" He says as he puts the last of the twigs in place.

you looked over to him and slightly bit your lip,"I wasn't able to find any..." you replied nonchalantly.

The general let out a huffed sigh before pausing and then looking down at his shirt. he suddenly starts undoing the top of his uniform, which strangely wasn't a shirt but a thin jacket with inside pockets; which he then stuck his hand inside and pulled out a lighter.

He held the object in front of him, rolling it between his thumb and forefinger. "It's a good thing I have this. I've keep this as a memento for as long as I've had it... There should be a little bit of lighter fluid left... we should ration it as much as possible..." he says.

He starts flicking the lighter with little success until you took it from him without hesitance or warning. he was just shocked by you sudden all the while as you tried to flick the lighter on. As you tried to you couldn't help but be infatuated by its design, just stopping briefly to look at it more carefully. It was made of a jet black polished stone and engraved with gold leaves up one side of it. You flipped it onto its bottom side and saw a similar style of gold leaf engraving but shaped into the initials of B and H...

"... This is beautiful," you say.

He grabbed the lighter back,
"Give Me That... It's gaudy is what it is..." he grumbled.

"its the most beautiful device I've ever seen..." trying to keep to the subject.

"its tacky and frankly I don't care what you think about it..."

You look at him with slight confusion before innocently asking him "do you smoke?"

he narrowed his eyes and glanced over at you, "no."

"...then why do you have a lighter then?"

at this point, he stopped trying to light the fire and gave you his full attention, clearly annoyed by your mere questions, "Didn't I just say I kept it as a memento?"

you went silent for a moment, trying your best not to think of any more of your questions as they were clearly upsetting the general.

"... who's B H?", you mentally cringe at your question.

he shot a glare so piercing it was hard to look at him properly, "do you ever shut up?" His voice went monotone but echoed the disgust he so clearly wanted you to know.

you went quiet for good this time... thinking how stupid it was of you to even think of asking such a question... you went back to rubbing your feet; mentally justifying your actions to your responses. 'well if he wasn't going to share that information, then that's fine...'

well, in all honesty, really, you couldn't help it. seriously... who was this BH person? A beloved friend? A family member? A fallen comrade? there was little you knew about him, except a few rumors here and there about his past. he was a man shrouded in mystery. a private man, but now, in your most unfortunate circumstance, you were alone together... no privacy. no hiding anything, all honesty, and truth.
You moved away from him, you weren't going get an answer about this anytime soon... but that didn't really matter to you, you had other priorities to worry about, not his personal life...

Hux went back to getting the tinder lit; ignoring you all the while. and you went back to putting on your socks and boots. If he needed his own personal time to himself, then you guessed you needed yours as well. You decide to go back to the forest and check on the traps, even though you had set them up several minutes ago. anyways, it was better you left and gave him some space...

You grabbed one of the blasters next to him and placed into your holster, "I'll be back soon..."

Hux didn't reply back to you, keeping his eyes fixed on his task at hand, so you took off;
back into the forest...
