The two girls were visibly trembling even to the blind. Never had fear racked through jalila like this moment, she had seen quite a number of horrifying scenes but none could rival being dragged away by Kunniru. What ever he meant with them was definitely to their disadvantage. Men tremble at his sight not to say two helpless females.
Stepping out of their cell, it felt cold but even more terrifying was all exterior lights were off. Marching through the darkness in the dead of the night, Jalila and ameera did exactly as told but yet it did not stop them from incurring a few slaps from the mighty beast of a man Kunniru .
Helplessly they marched heading for the insurgents quarters, right then it became obviously clear to Jalila what was going to happen. Today.... Today is DOOMSDAY!!
Even in the dark Jalila managed to find ameera's hand, she took it in hers squeezing lightly in bid way to ease away ameera's fear but truth be told Jalila wasn't feeling all that secure herself to comfort another yet she was doing it.

Bintu coiled up in a corner unable to stop her wondering mind, for the first time she was genuinely concerned about jalila's safety. Bintu needed no angel to decipher jalila's faith for her, she was old enough to perfectly infer what such gestures implied. Events of two years past flooded Bintu's mind, although she has lived to tell the tale but June 27th is a date that was stuck in her brain, a day that will hunt her for the rest of her life.

With every step they took forward it became clearer to them what exactly awaits them. If ameera's heart was beating fast, at this point it had quadrupled. Once more she prayed to God to bring about a miracle, any miracle be it a lighting bolt, a hurricane or even an earthquake to swallow them all, although those aren't likely but as long as it saves her from this unfortunate faith then so be it.
The two girls were about to be led into one of the structures when a man appeared from the dark like a ghost from a grave, his abilities of merging with the darkness was spiffing. The man lit his flashlight directing its light specially upon Jalila.
"I will take her" the lone voice stated dripping with authority, it seems Kunniru had recognised the man. With no gentle push Kunniru tossed her forward abruptly with no questions asked. That did nothing to ease the rising tension in jalila rather it skyrocketed. Jalila had no idea who the mysterious man was, making it hard for her to decide on weather to jubilate or further drown in fear.
Shifting the rays of light to Ameera, the mysterious man glared at her intently from top to bottom, pausing for a moment as though contemplating an action.
"I'll take her too"
Although unsatisfied Kunniru had no option but to surrender both ladies. Ameera took a step back bumping into his hard muscles. Kunniru shoved her forward, the momentum from his push toppled Ameera off her feet knocking her off balance.
The light that once blinded her now Illuminated the form of Kunniru, whirling around trying to find her footing ameera's gaze settled upon something her fear had previously blinded her from seeing, a necklace of human ears that hung proudly from Kunniru's neck.
If ameera wasn't conversant with cosmetic plastic makeups she could have swore those were real ears but -a closer view confirmed her fear, those were indeed REAL human ears. It was indeed a spectacle, a sight unlike any she had ever seen before, a sight that drove fear deep beneath her deepest core.
The mysterious man flung the door open gesturing to them with a swipe of his hand to walk inside. Jalila led the way, ameera following in her tracks both without opposition. If there's one thing Jalila had learnt in her weeks of stay here it would be the 'always obey and never complain' policy, a policy she was getting quite acquainted to.
