Chapter 1: The start

"Right now I need you with me: I need Betty Cooper." - Archie

Betty's POV
My body felt like it was in an earthquake, still shaking in the aftermath. My heart was pounding out of my chest. Everything that happened had me spooked. I felt warm hands wrap around me and I hugged back. Arch always kept me safe, like bestfriends do. The black hood was finally exposed. I could carry on with my normal night but tonight changed things. That surprise kiss would still make things different.

Archie's POV
I hugged Betty to let her know she was safe with me. After all we went through tonight. I almost got buried alive and Betty was held at gun point by the black hood. We were both shook up. When the news broke we decided to meet Jug and Ronnie at a both at Pop's. We arrive and Pop's and Jughead and Veronica are already sitting there on the same side. Betty and I sit on the opposite side. We end up where this all started. Betty and I on one side and Veronica and Jughead on the other side. Before I began dating Veronica and Betty and Jughead was dating. Something told me that kiss between Betty and I were going to make things different. "I cant believe what happened to you two." Veronica says.
"I cant either." Betty replies.
"Yeah we are fine, we had each other." I say placing my hand on Betty's. She quickly moves hers away.

Betty's POV
It's strange sitting in this booth. It brought back memories. When I had a hopeless crush on my bestfriend. When juggie and I spent many moments. I would have never predicted it to be like this. Archie placed his hand on top of mine I knew he was only trying to make Ronnie jealous so I quickly move my hand away.

Archie's POV
I was on my way home when I hear someone yell out. "Archie wait up." Veronica yells.
"Hey Ronnie what's up?" I ask.
"I'm sorry about what happened, I wasn't thinking straight." She claims.
"Veronica, I can't I'm sorry." I state.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
"I kissed Betty." I spit out by accident.
"Archie, don't think I'm going to let one 'my life is in danger' kiss get in the way." She States before pulling me in for a kiss. I pull away seeing Betty waking off.

Betty's POV
I stood there and saw Archie and Veronica kiss. Just like nothing happened. It made me remember Archie and I never had a chance. People may mistake I was upset because Archie was with Veronica again but that wasn't the case. I was upset because I lost Juggie, one of the greatest things that happened to me this year.

Archie's POV
I chased after Betty until she finally stopped. "Betty I'm sorry, I didn't know Veronica was going to do that, I didn't kiss her back." I say.
"Arch it's fine honestly." She says back. "Veronica and you are meant for each other, just like Jug and I." Those words shocked me. I didn't feel that way. Something about that made me feel strange. "Yeah, Well night Betty." I say.
"Night Arch." She says before waking inside. I return home. "Hey Archie." My dad calls.
"Dad hey." I reply.
"Archie you seem confused, everything ok?" He asks.
"Dad can I ask you a question?"
"Yes son." He replies back, lifting up one eyebrow.
"So I have this friend, and he feels like he's been lying to himself about who he loved this whole time." I state.
"Well Arch, I believe this 'guy' needs to figure out how he really feels." My dad laughs. "And I'm sure he'll make the right choice." He continues.
"Thanks dad." I reply. "I'll tell him that." I raced upstairs. My head was sore from all the thoughts rushing through. I get distracted when I hear a ruckus next door. I look at the window to see what it was. Betty. Dancing around her room. She's was so cute. I couldn't help but laugh. What felt like it lasted for an entire decade but only for a few short minutes Betty's and mine eyes met. Betty brushes a piece of hair back and shacks her leg. It seemed as if she was embarrassed.

Betty's POV
My eyes met Archie's and knew he had been watching me making a fool of myself. I brush a piece of hair behind my head then sit down at my mirror. I looked at myself, face as red as a tomato from me blushing. I used to be used to it but that was a long time ago. Now, now I just don't understand what's happening. Nothing makes sense anymore.

Archie's POV
I was started to come to terms of what was going on. I didn't understand it exactly but that's the great thing about feelings, you never truly understand them. I Archie Andrews, had caught feelings for the girl next door Betty Cooper. The downside to this all, she didn't like me that way. I need to figure out a way to make her fall for me again. I lay down in my bed, heart racing, starring at the ceiling thinking of all the possibilities. I was going to steal her heart again but this time she would steal mine too.
