Chapter 3 - Rat Race

It had been a couple of hours since Niall had been taken away from their little group by the menacing Alpha, Zayn Malik. Louis was still shaking from what had happened, seeing Niall peering through the rear windshield to check whether or not his friends would come to his rescue.

The three of them were sat at Louis' dining table, his parents were both still at work until very late hours. "We need to go about this carefully," Liam began, running a hand across his face. They all cared about the Beta and Liam did so excessively. He didn't really know what he would do without the blond there.

Harry was the first to map out the grounds that belonged to Zayn, having lived there for quite some time himself before moving to his family's old mansion when he lost the battle for dominance. Of course, Louis didn't know that and it made him wonder.

"How come you know the area?" He questioned with a sneer in his voice, throwing Harry a look. "That's beside the point, I just do." The Alpha declared, returning Louis' annoyed look with a rather angry one of his own. He didn't like it when people talked back at him, especially not Louis, probably because of his Omega status.

Harry wasn't supposed to see Louis in the way he had started to see him. The Alpha found him endearing and wondered what it would be like to be with him. Nevertheless, that was a thought he had pushed aside, for now.

"Okay so, what I suggest is this. We leave Louis here, because it's far too dangerous for him to come along, let's make that clear," Harry began, having Louis huff in response, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair.

Liam, however, pursed his lips in thought. "Don't you think that's what Zayn is hoping for? Like, you and I go to Niall's rescue and leaving Louis here unprotected..." He explained, having Harry sigh.

"You're right. We're going to need some back up if we're going to do this." Harry replied, running a hand through his hair as he trailed off in thought, biting his lip ever so slightly.

"What if I like, uhm, stay at your place, Liam?" Louis wondered, ignoring Harry for the most part and Liam arched a brow, wanting for the Omega to explain his plan. "They don't know where you live and even if they do, your mum is always home, so she can call the police or something if necessary- Like, when they do find out where I am."

It wasn't a bad plan actually, Harry was nodding in agreement as he looked at the map of the grounds he had been drawing. "Good plan." Liam confirmed, giving a curt nod before he allowed his eyes to go over to Harry again. "As for us..."

Harry pursed his lips as he took a sip of his glass of water. "We're going to break through the clearing, he doesn't want Niall, he wants Louis. So, knowing what I do from Zayn, he's going to willingly give him to us."

That made the small Omega sigh in relief as he unraveled his arms from one another, leaning forward onto the table. "I didn't say he'd be untouched, Louis... Chances are that Zayn has done something to him." Harry continued sadly as he had seen the response of the other.

The boy swallowed, letting out a shaky breath. "Just bring him home- Bring my best friend home, please." He begged, tears beginning to fill his eyes and Liam sighed, standing up from his chair and going to wrap Louis up in his arms. "We'll do everything in out power, Lou. Let's get you to safety, first."

After having dropped Louis off at Liam's house and explaining everything to his mother, both Alphas were headed towards Niall's rescue.

"Nervous?" Harry asked, watching how Liam was idly picking at his fingernails. "Worried, actually. Not sure what we might find there." He replied with a shaky breath to follow as Harry pulled up in between a couple of trees.
