I wake up and look at my arm. My routine is the exact same as it's been the last 10 years. In 20 minutes it's breakfast time. Well will have the same thing we have had everyday for the last 10 years. Luckily I have 20 minutes to get prepared. Then I begin for the thousandth time. How do they get the routine on your arm everyday. It changes color by what day of the 10 day plan. Today was pink. My least favorite day.

On pink the holograms are stronger and there is 2 knives. I will tell you my routine. It's the same thing everyday. At 6:00 it is breakfast. At 6:15 it's training. At 12:00 it is lunch. Then 5 more hours of training. Then dinner for 15 min. For an hour your allowed to socialize. Then it is mandatory curfew. Into your sleeping area. If you are out after curfew. You will be killed. The only thing that changes isn't the times, the meals or the events it's the training sessions.

You spend 10 hours of your routine training. For what I have no idea. I've asked what were training for more times than I can count. The trainers always ignore any question you ask if it doesn't involve fighting the holograms. Over the speakers the voice as my friends and I refer to it speaks monotonly and says, "15 minutes until breakfast, the meal will be purée same as every meal we have ever had."

"What a surprise I say as I think out loud." I step into the closet and the dressing machine fits me into my pink routine outfit. I walk out into the hallway and knock on my friend Louis's door.

Louis answers it and says, "It's pink today." He holds out his arm and scowls. Lou as I call him isn't the best when it comes to training and since pink is the hardest training this is his most stressful routine.

I look back at him and say, " You don't have to do good all you have to do is stay alive. By the way have you seen Eva lately. Yesterday she got hurt in training and she had to go to the infirmary. I'm worried the holograms are heartless and they want to see their victims suffer. That's the only reason she's still alive. The only thing is she's smart. She may not be able to back up her smartness with physical attributes but on a green day. The easiest day Lou. During social hour she'll probably be back, but is it bad for me to worry?"

Lou looks back at me and says, "The trainers didn't tell me that! They don't like me because I'm not that good at training. You have never had a problem with training and your amazing at it. This is completely unfair you get incentive for being the best at defeating the holograms. Don't the trainers understand she's my friend as well!"

The speaker comes on in the hall and the voice states, "Report to breakfast if you want to eat."

I look at Lou and say, "I will get answers later or we will go to the infirmary to see her if she's not back by social time. When I was young Lou I had the same problems as you with training, you just haven't been here long enough to totally learn all of the techniques to win. You will Louis I promise. C'mon let's go to breakfast we will worry about Eva later."

He looks at me concerned I can see his brow furrowed under his extremely long bangs that he hasn't had time to move over to the side yet. He states, "Ok Zephyr let's go I'm starving."
