Dempsey had just finished another day of zombie killing in Der Riese, and he needed to sleep.

But he couldn't sleep.

He kept walking around every few minutes, checking doors and windows were barricaded.

Richtofen noticed Dempsey's restlessness, and decided to help him.

"Dempsey. Are you finding it difficult to sleep?" He asked gently, noticing Dempsey relaxing slightly upon hearing his voice.

"Not really.. I'm just, you know, checking everything's safe.." Dempsey replied, almost ashamed that he couldn't sleep.

Richtofen sighed.

"You can talk to me about whatever is bothering you. I'll always try to help you, Dempsey, no matter how silly or small your problems seem."

After a short pause, Demspey spoke.

"I just... haven't really had a chance to speak to you today. Your voice makes me happy." He admitted, blushing and looking away from Richtofen.

"Well, how about you try to get some sleep... and I'll sing a little lullaby for you." Richtofen offered, smiling at Dempsey's slight embarrassment.

Dempsey nodded, smiling tiredly.

Due to a lack of beds, Dempsey sat down on the floor and leaned against a wall. Not a comfortable way to sleep, but there were no better options.

Richtofen sat down next to him and sang gently:

"Stars shining bright above you,"

Dempsey smiled at the song.

"Night breezes seem to whisper 'I love you'"

Richtofen noticed Dempsey's smile and gently kissed his forehead.

"Birds singing in the sycamore trees,"

There were no birds singing, but Dempsey was smiling as if he'd heard the most beautiful birdsong in the world.

"Dream a little dream of me."

Noticing Dempsey was still awake, Richtofen continued singing.

"Say 'nighty night' and kiss me,"

Dempsey pulled Richtofen closer and kissed him, making Richtofen laugh quietly.

"Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me,"

Now leaning against Dempsey, Richtofen was starting to feel a bit sleepy.

"While I'm alone and blue as can be,"

Richtofen stared into Dempsey's tired eyes and smiled.

"Dream a little dream of me."

Time was slowing passing, and every word Richtofen sang made Dempsey feel like he could happily sleep for a billion years.

"Stars fading but I linger on, dear,"

Dempsey slowly closed his eyes, still listening to the angelic singing.

"Still craving your kiss,"

Trying very hard to stay awake, Richtofen yawned quietly.

"I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,"

Finally falling asleep, Dempsey pulled Richtofen a little bit closer.

"Just saying this,"

Realising Dempsey was asleep, Richtofen whispered the last few lines of the song.

"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you,"

He gently ran his fingers through Dempsey's hair.

"Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you,"

He smiled at Dempsey's peaceful expression.

"But in your dreams, whatever they be,"

Closing his eyes and falling into a deep sleep, Richtofen mumbled the last line.

"Dream a little dream of me."
