“You're amazing! I can't thank you enough!”

I felt a great deal of relief and satisfaction as she complimented me. It had been awhile since I had seen her this excited and happy in weeks. I was glad to be able to put a smile on her face with my work.

She signed with relief, “To be honest, I've been so worried about the wedding that I began doubting every little detail, worrying that it won't turn out the way I want it. But after seeing this amazing dress I can finally say my wedding will be something that I will remember for the rest of my life.” Her great beautiful smile reached from ear to ear, and I knew for certain that she would always remember the biggest day of her life, what girl wouldn't.

“I'm very happy you like it so much.” I said retuning her smile. “Like it? Serena, I love it! I wouldn't expect less from you. You an amazing seamstress!” She walked up to me and took both my hands in hers, “I mean it, you're incredible. You should be working with the celebrities with your talent.”

I shook my head quietly, giving her a shy smile, “I don't know about that. I like working in this little boutique. This is enough for me.”

“Oh come on Serena! Why don't you dream a bit bigger? You're still young, you have your whole life ahead of you, certainly there should be at least one thing you want for yourself other than working in this small run down town.” Karina had a point.

Although my whole life I've been trying hard to become the best seamstress in town, I never really thought of ever leaving this place. To be honest, all I ever really wanted was to create my own boutique where I was in charge and made every girl's special day one they will never forget. Although working in this small boutique where it was only me and the store owner made my job a little difficult, especially with the bad economy and small work space I had. I would normally take some of my clients orders home just to get enough room and finish on time, but other than that I had no real complaints as long as I saw each costumer happy and satisfied.

“You know, I've always dreamt of my wedding being the most romantic and happiest day of my life, and you know what, with this dress I'm sure it will be.” Karina lifted up the white tulle dress with small pearls embroidered around the waist and corset with pink floral designs at the hem. “If you can make my dream come true I'm sure whatever you want will come true. You're a hard worker Serena, I think its about time you deserve your wish to be granted.”

I smiled as she walked up to me and hugged me tightly. She took a step back placing her left hand on my shoulder reassuring me to take on her suggestion. “I'll be expecting you to be there. There's someone I want to introduce you to.”

“If its another of your attempts to get me to date think again.” I tilted my head while rolling my eyes at her. She burst out laughing as she placed her dress back into the black cover for protection.

“It the total opposite. Think of it as advertizing. I'm helping you get more clients. I will admit that the person I will be introducing is someone of a high level of importance to this community. So this would do you some good of maybe getting sponsored to finally be able to get that studio you always wanted to start you business.”

I bit my lip as she placed her bag over her shoulder. More clients? Being sponsored? My own studio?! My eyes widened as I walked up to Karina and hugged her tightly. “Oh Karina, thank you so much for this opportunity! You're the best you now that!”

She warmly smiled as he placed her hands on my arms and stared at me kindly, “Anything for you Serena. What are friends for.” I took her hands and took a deep breath. I watched as her smile then faded into worry again.

“Karina, everything is going to be fine. Things are going to go smoothly, I promise. You don't know how happy I am to have been able to make your wedding dress. You could have gone to someone far more talented and famous like Angelica Stern to make your dress, she normally works with the second and third estates.”

She smiled and shook her head slowly as she then looked up at me and gave me the sweetest most heart warming look that she always gave me when I criticized myself to harshly. “You know as well as I do that would never happen. No matter my state is, given if I am now a Third and not a Fourth, you're my friend first not a state.”

I smiled, thanking her for all her kind actions and words that always pushed me forward in my work. She pick up her dress and walked to the door. “Serena, again thank you for everything. I wouldn't have picked anyone else to make my dress and you know it. I'll see you in two days, and remember, come prepared to be one step closer to your dream. Which again I think should be a bit bigger.” She playful joked as I walked up behind her and playfully pushed her out the door.

“Don't worry Mrs. Amador. I'll make sure to be on my best behavior.” She laughed as she walked out the door to a brand new car black car waiting in front of the shop. “Calm down, I'm still Hernandez until the wedding. But thanks again Serena, I'll see you later then. Have a good day.”

I watched as she walked to the front of the car and watched as she placed her dress on the passenger seat and then drove off with big smile on her face.
