When they finally reached the Slytherin common room, Draco thanked the trio.
"Thanks for , you know, walking me back. And saving Cammie." He raked his hands through his hair for the ump-teenth time. Ron began to wonder if it were some sort of nervous twitch. "And, er, sorry about, er, not being clothed."
Harry stifled a laugh and Ron snorted. "Sorry, mate, but it is kind of funny." At this, Draco smiled, the faintest trace of laughter escaping his throat. Even Hermione gave a slight little grin.
"Well, g'night." Draco made a funny movement that would've gone unnoticed to anyone not paying attention, but Ron saw it. His arms twitched and moved instinctively to hug Hermione, but he seemed to decide against this a nanosecond later and retracted. He wanted to hug her.
"You guys can," Ron started uncomfortably, "you know." He made a motion like a silent clap and brought his palms together. They shook minutely. "We won't get sick, Harry and me."
Draco seemed a bit confused, staring with one eyebrow cocked at Ron incomprehensively, so Hermione stood up and brushed a light kiss along his bottom lip, and Draco smiled at this.
"Goodnight, Hermione, Harry, and Ron."
And for the first time, it didn't sound forced when Draco used Ron's first name instead of his last.
Just a short little chapter to update! I'm having serious writer's block!
