CHAPTER TEN: TOUGH BREAKUP PART 2

Rydel's POV:

I wake up to realize I'm in Ratliff's room...

I try to stand up but I'm hurting all over...

I don't remember much of what happened with my psychotic EX Jake but I remember being scared and hurt and I remember Ratliff saving me...

Oh! Where is Ratliff?

I stand up despite my aching and make my way downstairs.

"DELLY!!" someone shouts before I even reach the bottom step.

Ratliff runs to my side and hugs me- but is careful of my..oh! I have a bandage on my waist...

"How do you feel? You've been asleep for hours I though you would never wake up..." Ratliff mumbles.

Aww he's so cute when he's concerned....

"Er..I've been better..." I trail off.

We both blush when we realize Ell still has his arms around me but we don't pull away.

There's a few moments of silence before we're interrupted by my mom running into the room.

"Oh my goodness Rydel!" she shouts, she looks like she's been crying.

My mom wraps me in a tight hug which admittedly hurts a little but I can imagine how she feels... I mean her only daughter was assaulted.

"Your father went to the police station with Riker to report what happened but when they went back to look for Jake he was gone and so was his car...but they're looking for him still..." my mom trailed off, and looked at me and now she's crying again.

I hug my mom and smile at Ellington over her shoulder.

"Mom, I'll be fine" I assure her, and we head into the living room to find my brothers (minus Riker) and Maia are waiting to see me.

I get three more greetings much like mom's only much angrier...

"I swear when I get my hands on that bastard..." Rocky says frustratedly as he hugs me tightly.

I giggle a little into his chest. I'm glad I have my brothers to watch out for me.

When I finally get to Maia she pulls me into a weak embrace, she looks tired but she's not showing quite yet.

"Did you tell Ross?" I whisper to her.

She nods and smirks so I'm guessing it went well. Not to mention Ross hasn't stopped smiling since.

"And your parents?" I ask quietly.

"Called them last night and they're shocked but happy so they're coming home early." she beams.

"Oh, also we were gonna tell your family tonight but -uh I think it can wait" Maia says raising both eyebrows matter-of-fact-ly.

Maia's POV:

Rydel's face drops.

"Oh my god Maia I'm so sorry," she says, distressed.

"No it's fine, really!" I laugh putting a hand on Rydel's arm.

Poor girl's so worked up right now I feel terrible for her.

She smiles a little and turns around when Ellington taps her shoulder.

"Mind if I steal her?" he asks.

"Sure," I smile slyly.

He gives me a shocked look but I only have a second to ponder some rydellington scenario (yea I ship it now!) before I feel to strong arms grasp my waist.
