When I was little, my mother used to read my sister and I this story of girl cousins living in a house in the woods who took care of each other and rescued a wounded rabbit. I haven't read the book in many years, but it stayed with me. The House In the Meadow in some ways has little in common with a picture book except that cousins live in a house together without adult supervision and rescue a rabbit. This particular story is fanfiction, but it is not a shipping fanfic and is an AU told more in the style of classic US movies like Stand By Me. The writing style almost borders on magical realism. (Hint there is no actual magic.)
UNB is a nine-member project group out of Korea formed from a reality elimination show called The Unit. You do not have to know who UNB are to enjoy this book. (My beta readers don't and keep encouraging me to write more.) All you have to do is be open to a story about nine boys living alone in the woods which form their own family. But you should check out UNB's music and videos, they are known for their choreography, you might like it.
