"I can't believe it!" James pouted as he traipsed behind Lily on the way to Transfiguration. Lily pursed her lips, keeping her head low as she tried her best to ignore the boy.

"I mean, he's my best friend; you'd have thought he'd have told me." James continued to grumble to himself. Lily only sighed in response.

James tutted, kicking at the floor now, "Do you have any idea why he'd do that?"

"Do you know what a secret is?" Lily stopped in her tracks, whipping around to face him now.
"W-Well yeah. Obviously." James jumped back to avoid stepping too close to her.

Lily shook her head, a small smile growing, "Then that's why Sirius didn't tell you. Technically, Sirius wasn't even meant to know Asteria had made quidditch captain."
"Well I'm just going to have to destroy her team in the match next week so Sirius knows for the future that I'm the best." James threw her a lopsided grin.

"I think maybe you could do society good by sharing some of your over flowing confidence with others." Lily's smile faded as she turned back around and resumed walking towards class.

James ran to keep up, easily falling into stride beside her as they rounded the corner in the corridor. "Do you need some of my confidence? I'm more than willing to share with you." He ran a hand through his hair and grinned.

Scoffing, Lily refused to turn around or even speak to the boy anymore. Sometimes he was just so arrogant and annoying it drove her insane.

"You guys took your time." Asteria pointed out as she and Sirius leant against the wall beside the door to the classroom.
Sirius shook his head disapprovingly, "Can't believe you nearly made us late."
She smirked at this, "So where have you two been exactly?"

Lily rolled her eyes, "Don't you start. And since when were either of you ever on time for anything?"

"Better be late to that match next week, Halloway. I'm guessing you won't want to see your team get obliterated." James strutted forwards, pushing open the door to the classroom.
Asteria laughed, "Even if I wasn't there for the game, Slytherin would still destroy you. When was the last time Gryffindor actually won, Potter? Like 1202 or something?"

James scoffed, "You're so in for it."
"I'm in for a win, if that's what you mean." Asteria grinned.

"Alright, alright." Sirius stepped in between the two of them, holding his arms out, "Let's stop the flirting."

Asteria turned to Sirius, "Oh shut up." She laughed, pushing him away gently towards James as she went to sit beside Lily at one of the desks.

"Seriously." James began, taking his books out of his bag and dropping them onto the table with a slam, "You better not go easy on her in the match."
Sirius held his head in his hand and peered around to face James, "I never said I would."
