-CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: THE DATE (Harry)-
"Don't force it." Harry said softly. "If you do, it would only be harder to get it to let go…"The next morning, Shira woke up remembering the events that had happened the night before: how Louis had fixed up the very romantic date, how she saw the way his eyes sparkled in the sunset, and how he kissed her and how he made love to her.
Shira smiled at the thought. She touched her lips gently; she could still feel Louis's lips on them. A surge of electricity ran through her body and she squealed, flushing.
Then came a knock on her door.
"Shira, you awake?" It was Harry's voice.
The brunette gasped. Right! It was her date with Harry.
"Uh… Yeah… I'm awake." She replied hesitantly.
"You ready?" Harry asked, after a while.
"Ye—no… No..." Shira honestly answered. "Wait at the lobby, I'll meet you there."
Shira heard Harry sigh slowly. "Okay. Take your time, then."
For some reason, Shira's heart felt as if it was being squeezed. The tone of Harry's voice was… helpless, if you could put it in words. As if he was defeated. Guilt flooded the girl. Why does she still have to go on a date with Harry, when she already knew who she really loves? Won't it just hurt Harry more? Wouldn't it be somehow making him hope?
Shira slapped her face hard. "Wake up, Shira. Just get this over with."
So she got up, preparing for a long date, hoping that at the end of the day, Harry would understand.
"Don't worry, Shira. He'll understand… I hope…"
"Well, you surely took your time…" Harry commented, raising an eyebrow.
'Took her time' was a bit of an understatement, though. Shira had taken three hours to get ready and Harry honestly looked as if he was about to leave.
"I'm sorry." Shira said, bowing apologetically. "I just wanted to make sure that I matched up to how you looked today and boy, did I do it right!"
Harry's eyebrows met now as he flushed, looking at her. Shira had hit a bull's eye: he was absolutely dressed. Why, he looked like a runway model for a fashion show! He was wearing a black jacket which was buttoned only halfway, showing his sexy collarbone and a glimpse of his toned chest. His tattered jeans, rubber shoes and small backpack also added to the bad-boy look, not to mention his curly hair was sexily all over the place. As Shira looked at him, he looked as though he'd really prepared for this day.
…And at the end of this day, she'd have to tell him that it's just not him.
Shira's face went blank. What a waste of Harry's good effort. Although she had to admit that he looked absolutely gorgeous, it was just Louis.
"Are you okay? You look confused." Harry asked. He was now standing up, from leaning on the lobby wall.
"Huh?" Shira asked, looking at him.
Harry smiled, then, looked around. After sighing deeply, he looked at her again. "I said, are you okay?"
"Y-yeah, sure. Of course!" Shira lied.
"So, when do you wanna go?"
"Uhm… You didn't prepare a place or anything?" she asked, a bit surprised. She may have been expecting too much.
"No…" Harry said. "Well, why we just have a ride downtown?"
"A ride on what?"
"On my bike."
