Chapter Twenty-Two: The Last Shooting Star

Nimphane's POV

I'm currently pacing back and forth in different corners of my room. I just woke up, but something immediately struck me.

I glanced at Baby Axria, who was staring at me with questioning eyes. I stopped my pacing and looked at her, furrowing my brow.

"I can't answer your question, Baby Axria," I said, then continued pacing.

But soon enough, I collapsed onto the bed and pressed my forehead. Ano ba 'tong nangyayari sa'yo, Nimphane?

I'm really bothered about the deal. It keeps my awake up until now. Hindi ko mapigilang isipin ang deal.

My heart says there should be a last shooting star for me to agree to Gaius' courtship, while my mind says there shouldn't be a last shooting star to avoid any date. Pero bakit ganito ang utak? Gusto talaga practical.

Hinawakan ko ang pisnge kung saan hinalikan ni Gaius kagabi.Biglang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko at hindi ko namalayan na ngumiti na ako.

Why does Gaius have this effect on me? Why does everything he does feel sweet to me? Why do I feel different towards him compared to Sauron?

I mean Sauron is really a good looking man also pero he's nothing compare to Gaius. He don't need to be Jealous about Sauron because he's just a friend. No stepping beyond the line.

I've never felt like this before. It's like I'm searching for his face, his posture, especially his smile. Maybe that's where I fell for him—but did I really fall? Did Cupid already strike my heart?

Napahawak ako ulit sa pisnge ko. Pero ang halik talaga ni Gaius, parang may electric shock bigla ng dumampi ang mga labi niya. Like I want to experience it again.

"Ay hinalikan ako ni Gaius sa pisnge!" Sigaw ko dahil sa pagkabigla dahil padabog na binuksan ni Cherlindrea at pintuan papasok. Nakita ko naman ang paglaki ng mata niya at pagtakip ng bibig niya.

Agad ko siyang hinatak paloob at sinira ang pintuan ang ni-lock. I look at her face and saw a devil smile on her lips. Pero unti-unti itong nagpigil na para bang sisigaw ito kaya tinakpan ko ang kanyang mga bibig.

I calmed her down first, not wanting to startle her, just facing her but not expecting what she did next—

I cried out in pain from the slap she gave me. I even hit the wall; her slap must have been strong due to her power. She seemed surprised by her action and quickly approached me, worried.

"OMG! I am very very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Nimph! Nag-hy-hysterical na paumanhin sa akin ni Cherlindrea. Napatakip ako ng bibig dahil kahit anong oras ay hahalakhak ako. Bakit ba hindi ko magawang magalit sa babaeng ito. Lahat ng galaw niya napapatawa niya ako.Imbes na magalit ako,hahalakhak nalang sa tawa.

"Nakakatawa 'yun?Ha?Nakakatawa 'yun?Siraulo!" Sabi niya sabay flip ng hair niya.Aba!Ang babaeng ito. Kung hindi lang talaga kita kaibigan lagot ka talaga sa akin. Hindi ko kayang tawagin siya sa second name niya dahil magtatampo ito. Ewan ko ba sa babaeng ito, maganda naman ang Airess.

Padabog siya sa nagmartsa sa higaan ko at pabagsak na umupo.

"Abuso kana girl ha, sisirain mo pa talaga higaan ko?" Sabi ko at ginawang alalay ang pader sa pagtayo. Ang lakas kaya ng impact ng pagkakasampal niya. Sama hanggang laman eh.

"Share mo lang?" Sabi niya at inikot ang kanyang dalawang mata. Abuso na talaga ito.

"Pero bati na tayo kapag sasabihin mo kung paano, saan, kailan, may kasama kayo o wala, may pahamak, saan banda ng saan, kailan kung kailan." daldal niya pero tumaas lang ang kilay ko sa tanong niya dahil kahit isa ay wala akong may naintindihan.

"Spill the Magic Word," I said, crossing my arms with a raised eyebrow.

"No! Ikaw kaya may kasalanan."she said and crossed her arms too.

Hey! It's your fault! You slapped me and almost broke my bed, so spill the magic word or I will say nothing." I insisted, she sighed and rolled her eyes at me! Oh! Could I just poke her eyes?

"Okay fine, please!" sabi niya ng mahabang-mahaba tapos nag puppy eyes pa kaya kinuha ko ang kumot ko at tinakpan ang mukha niya.

"Nakngtokwa! Ang baho naman ng kumot mo Nimphane." sabi niya habang tinapon ang kumot ko sa sahig. I didn't mind it because the floor was clean, thanks to Baby Axria who knows how to clean.

"Downy 'yan sis! So 'yon na nga." I said, taking a deep breath before continuing, but the girl interrupted me again.

"Pa suspense ka eh!" she said, so I grabbed one of my pillows and threw it at her. She wasn't hurt because she controlled it with the wind.

"Ito na nga! Gaius confessed to me, he loves me." As I said, butterflies seemed to flutter in my stomach. I can't explain it, it just feels good and exciting.

"OMG! And then?" Cherlindrea screamed, so I covered her mouth with my left hand. I gestured for her to be quiet, and she nodded.

"Then we have a deal, if there's a last or one and only star left, mag de-date kami," I said, but Cherlindrea's smile widened as she looked at me, so I was puzzled. I slapped my forehead as I realized I was smiling while telling this to Cherlindrea.

"Gusto mo?" Cherlindrea asked.

"Yes, I mean no, yes, no! Oh, I don't know," I said, lying down on the bed. I looked at Cherlindrea, and I could see the excitement in her eyes. Do we have a chemistry? I think not!

Sigh, there's only one thing my heart is shouting right now, and do you know what it is?

I hope there's a last shooting star that will fall.

"Nimphane!Mag na-9 na!"Cherlindrea shouted from the room's terrace. I automatically stood up from the bed and headed to the terrace.

"Excited much?" Cherlindrea teased me, but I just rolled my eyes at her. I checked the clock in my room. 8:59 pm.

Malapit na!!

After a few seconds, I was awestruck by what I was witnessing. Shooting stars were falling one after the other from the sky. A Meteor Shower.

They came in different colors, but one caught my attention. A golden shooting star. It was so beautiful and shimmering. Splendid.

It took a while before it ended, but what I was waiting for the most was the one and only shooting star to fall. I waited for a few minutes, but nothing happened. I slumped my shoulders and bowed my head.

Masakit mag expect kapag akala mo malaki ang chance pero wala naman pala.

Maybe we're not meant for each other because even with all the effort, the king of kingdoms doesn't agree.

"It's okay, Nimp, maybe you just need to look for more signs," Cherlindrea said while patting my back. We failed for the first time, maybe there will be more attempts.

As I was about to enter, Cherlindrea suddenly shouted loudly, "OMG! Nimphane, tignan mo!"

My body automatically ran to the terrace. I smiled at what I witnessed.

The last shooting star.
