Dedicated to Leonardo_wife
GABRIELLE'S POV
A million of different emotions raced through me as I walked down the aisle. Today, I would finally get to marry THE King T'Challa of Wakanda! Talk about a pretty good day in the making. When my eyes met T'Challa's own, words could not express the way he looked at me. All of my insecurities and doubts about being the Queen of Wakanda went away at seeing how happy he was to see me.
When You Are by Charlie Wilson played, I could see my mom singing from her seat. My father acted like he was going to sit by my aunt and I giggled. T'Challa smiled and took both of my hands in his own. Tears were already present in my eyes and T'Challa brought my hands to his lips and placed a kiss on both of my knuckles.I smiled at him and Shuri mumbled from her seat,"You crying already, Gabrielle?"
I looked over at her and she laughed, before T'Challa rolled his eyes. T'Challa brought his gaze back on me and our eye contact only broke when it came time to recite our vows to one another. The priest looked between us, asking us who was to recite theirs first. T'Challa had requested to do this because neither of us were sure which one would want to go first on our wedding day.
T'Challa's hands remained in my own, until I took a deep breath and said,"T'Challa, I have went over what I wanted to say to you so many times, yet it never feels like it would be good enough. We have known each other for forever now, but you never cease to impress me and I love that about you. You are so kind yet born to be a king. You do what you have to do whether you want to really do that task or not. I know it has not been easy being with me and I thank you for being the best guy to me. I know we have many years left to get closer, but I feel like there is only so much closer we need to get. I love you so much, and I am honored to be by your side permanently as your queen. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you."
T'Challa let go of my hands to wipe his tears, but his tears did not stop. Everyone awwed, and I smiled sweetly at him. He went to say his vows to me, yet he needed a minute to compose himself.
When he finally took my hands in his own again, his vows literally had me sobbing. My mom sent me a look to not embarrass her. My father nodded in approval to T'Challa and when it was finally time to say I do, T'Challa and I both said it without any kind of hesitation.
When T'Challa removed my veil, I immediately kissed him hard and he responded in an instant. The officials and tribes of Wakanda all cheered, while my family still seemed to be louder than every tribe combined.
After the wedding ceremony, T'Challa and I's after party was celebrated among all of Wakanda. We were going to just stick to family and friends, but we thought it would send a more positive bringing to our people and future. When my father and I shared a dance together, I leaned against him and he said,"You looked beautiful up there, sweetheart. You do everything you can to be a great leader, okay?"
I nodded and asked him,"Are you all going to stay in Wakanda?"
Dad admitted to me,"Well, we did not want you to feel like we were invading your new responsibility, so we thought you would want us to go back home. Of course we would visit from time to time."
I promised him,"Dad, no matter how old I get, I will not disown you as my father. You got me this far and I owe it to you to keep you updated. Plus, you will know everything eventually. It is just how you are. You always come when I need you."
He smiled brightly at me and hugged me, before I hugged him back tightly. He let go of me and gave me a kiss, then he led me back to T'Challa.
T'Challa squeezed my hands and I asked him,"Do I have your full attention?"
T'Challa chuckled and nodded, before I brought his hand to my stomach.
I sent him a small smile and said,"Congratulations, King T'Challa. You are going to be a father."
T'Challa smiled real big and spun me around, capturing my lips in his own. This brought attention from everyone else and T'Challa said,"We're expecting a child."
With that, the after party went on.
