Chapter 8: The Engagement Party

Nagising ako sa tunog ng doorbell ng condo ko, medyo masakit pa ulo ko dala ng hang over.Pupungas pungas akong bumangon para tingnan kung sino ang nasa labas, para lang magulat.

"Lo, what are you doing here?" I asked with surprise.

He entered my unit without me inviting him in.I forgot about that.

"I should be the one asking you that question, wala ka bang OJT ngayon?gusto mo bang magkaroon ng record and bad impression sayo ang employer mo?Ano bang nangyayari sayo Amber! you seemed and looked so wasted" panenermon sakin ni Lolo.

I just shrugged it off.Sanay na ako sa mga sermon ni Lolo, simula ng suwayin ko siya noon tungkol sa pagmomodelling ko,hindi na kami naging maayos.Kaya din siguro ako pumayag sa kasal because I want to win him back, I want my Lolo back.

"Papasok na nga po ako Lolo, maliligo na sana ako nung kumatok kayo.I'm sorry about last night" sabi ko sa kanya.

"Sorry!!Maibabalik ba ang kahihiyan na binigay mo samin kagabi, pinaghintay mo yung bisita natin, di ka man lang nagpasabi ng mas maaga, kung di ka pa tinawagan ng Mommy mo, di pa namin malalaman! Grow up Amber! Sinasabi ko na talaga na di makakabuti sayo yang modelling modelling mo na yan , ang tigas kasi ng ulo mo!" mahaba niyang litanya.

Sana pala di na ko nag sorry, kung alam ko lang na hahaba pa pala sasabihin niya diba?

"Bumawi ka bukas sa Engagement Party mo, Solaire hotel 8pm! Kapag ako pinahiya mo na naman Amber, I'll will really disown you for a lifetime, try me!" he said in conviction before leaving me surprised.

What?Engagement Party?Why so fast?Pero alam kong di ko masasagot ang tanong ko dahil ilang meetings na ba ang pinalagpas ko sa kakaiwas sa kasal na yon.I have show tomorrow, what to do?

Bago pa ko mabaliw sa kakaisip, I decided to take a shower and go to the office.

Bago ako dumiretso ng office, dumaan muna ako sa pinapagawa kong bahay.It's really done, kulang na lang ng mga furnitures and everything.I smiled, I can already move in this month.I turned to watch a final glance on my dream house before maneuvering back to office.

I wanted to check Nicole if how she is, but I think that would be so obvious and she might tease the hell out of me.So I decided not! I go straight ahead to my office.While sitting on my chair, I remember about the engagement party tomorrow.How would it turn out to be?There are lots of thoughts running in my mind right now.

A warning knock on the door get me back into my present self.Leynard got in.

"Sir, the billboard of Miss Laxamana is already out, see it yourself outside Sir" he informed me.

He signaled me to open the window.I open the window blinds and there, I saw a giant billboard of Nicole leaning on the Bugatti veyron, looking like a goddess.I can't take away my look to that beautiful creature.Leynard got my attention.

"So, how do you find it Sir?" he asked.

"She's perfect" I answered without thinking.

"Sir?" he asked me again, when he hears my reply.

"Uhm-m I me-an it's perfect.Tell the team, job well done" I replied.
