Halloween Night
Sadie curled up on her bed in a fetal position. Her blinds were shut and her room was dark. She laid weeping staring at her flower covered bedroom wall. Her eyes were wide, forming nearly perfect circles in her sockets. Each time the door bell rang, she flinched from fear...anger...sadness. She squeezed the picture in her arms closer to her chest. Then she looked at it. It was her family before it had broken apart. Her father...mother...brother and her sitting on a park bench. She remembered that day like it was the day before. They were all so happy. Each of them having bright smiles. Then the family tore a part.
"Trick or treat!" The children's voices were heard from the front door.
Her father's laughing sent shivers of anger down her spine. How could he laugh? Be so happy? She couldn't lay there and listen to this. She stood and walked over to her light switch turning it on. Then she walked over to her dressing table and sat down. She dialed Fisher's number.
"Hello-"
"Happy Halloween," she said cheerfully.
"I don't celebrate Halloween."
"Okay. Good for you. I need you to do something for me tonight." This was the line she used on not only Fisher, but Chris, Mason and a few friends she knew would do anything wicked for fun. With the guys' annual Halloween party cancelled four years in a row she knew they would have pent up energy.
She hung up her last call and put her phone down on her table then she looked at herself in the mirror and with a scowl. Four years of her life just revolving around revenge. This would be her last year. She could feel it.

Poppy sat in her room with her door shut, a piece of folded paper stuck between the door and the frame. Her house was known for not giving out candy on Halloween, so no one bothered to ring her doorbell. Her parents were never home on Halloween.
She sat on her bed listening to music aloud and drawing. Her room was the only room with light. Her eyes occasionally met the dark line beneath the door. She was a little scared but her house was locked up. Every window was shut and the alarm was set. She felt alot more secure than her Halloween days in the past.
She was calm until her doorbell was rung. Her eyes met her bedroom door. She slowly stood grabbing her gun from between her bed frame and mattress and tucking it behind her skirt. She pulled her shirt over it, and made her way out of her room, towards the door.
She looked through the peep hole. "Wha..." She opened the door. "Is this a prank?"
Chris chuckled. "Do you really think I would tell you it was?" He held a pizza box in his hands. "Did you order this or not?"
"I didn't," Poppy sighed. "If this is a prank-"
"Look, I have other orders to drop off. There are kids everywhere running wild. Take it and pay."
Poppy glared at him. None of this made sense. Chris showing up with a pizza she didn't order. "Are you sure it isn't my neighbor's?"
"This house ordered it. A girl called. Lisa."
Poppy's brows rose. "That's my sister...Probably pranking me," she giggled. "Hold on...I'll get my money."
"That's fine. Just make it quick."
Poppy quickly ran up the stairs. She grabbed her money out of her purse and ran back down. She walked over to Chris. "Here," she handed him the money and took the box.
"Have a good night," he gave her a sinister smile before she closed the door.
She rolled her eyes then she reset the alarm. 9172. She walked up the stairs with her pizza and walked into her room. She shut the door, tucking the paper between the door and frame again.
