I didn't mean harm, I had to, I robbed a jewelry store
My family needed money, we where going bankrupt, it was a day warm enough for a jacket, I heard my mom talking, she sounded worried, she lost her job, when I listened closer I heard my dad quit, that's when I made my decision
I wanted the day away, not telling anyone what I heard, that night I took the gun out of my parents nightstand, and I can't drive, so I had to walk
All the way I was talking to myself "I have to do this, if I don't we'll be poor"
I burst open the doors of the store, I pointed the pistol at the cashier "okay, I don't want to hurt you, I just need money" she put her hands up "p-please don't shoot" she stutters "I won't, I JUST NEED THE MONEY" she starts unloading the cash register, her hand moved to the side of the counter, I didn't think anything of it.... Till I heard the sirens, and seen the lights
I shot at her because I was scared, one problem... THE GUN WASN'T LOADED "shit"
Police men poured through the doors, yelling at me to put my gun down, I was skeptical at first, till one of them shot at my feet, I dropped the gun out of shock, a police put me in handcuffs
I was thrown in the back of the car, I looked out at my parents, disappointed and fear filled their eyes, I could only say one meaningless, pitiful, disgraceful word "I'm sorry"
