yongguk jogged up the stairs in his apartment complex and burst into his little home, closing the door behind him. he was physically and emotionally exhausted after seeing kenta.

"'guk?" sanggyun's voice chimed up, making him yelp. since he hadn't been thinking of his boyfriend recently, he barely saw him when he got home, giving him personal alone time.

"hyung," he breathed out, smiling awkwardly as he threw his bag onto the couch. "it's just you."

"are you forgetting about me?" sanggyun frowned, following yongguk around. "i was stuck in that dark place for too long..."

yongguk, feeling apologetic, smiled at him. "sorry, hyung. i just... i have so much work, so many assignments due... and i'm too caught up in it."

"that's alright," sanggyun mumbled, looking at him. "but... who's hyunbin?"

yongguk froze up, looking at him. "why?"

sanggyun nodded over to the boy's phone, where text messages from 'hyunbin hyung <3' kept the screen alight.

yongguk scratched the back of his head. "a friend."

"just a friend?" sanggyun furrowed his eyebrows, following his boyfriend into his bedroom. "what's with the heart? how come i don't know him? why was he never mentioned?"

"because i knew this was going to happen!" yongguk suddenly lost his calm demeanour, irked by all the questions. "i knew you were going to get stupidly over-protective and jealous for no reason!"

"is he the same guy who dropped you home the other day?" sanggyun raised an eyebrow, watching the young boy gulp. "i know i can't get out of this apartment, but i still have eyes. i saw him hug you a bit too comfortably and pinch your ass."

"you're overthinking it," yongguk huffed as sanggyun shot up. "am i? am i really?"

"if you're a good boyfriend, then have trust in me," yongguk fake-grinned at him, before letting out a sigh.

"yongguk, you've changed-"

"you too? really?" yongguk scoffed, rolling his eyes. "did you and kenta both shove something up your asses that made you more annoying? why do you keep saying i changed when i haven't?!"

"i just want the best for you," sanggyun gulped, "you come home late and you're always in a bad mood-"

"well, guess freaking what?!" yongguk finally snapped. he wanted to get the guilt over and done with. "you're... you're right! hyunbin hyung is a seonbae, a year above me, and... and i think i'm having feelings for him that i never would've expected."

sanggyun's eyes darkened. "what?"

"i know you're my boyfriend but technically-" yongguk paused to gulp, "-technically you're not even human, so i'm not really dating you. i-i still love you, but i needed a, you know, human subordinate... you should be happy, i found a man who can show me real-"

"happy? happy?!" sanggyun scoffed, banging the table with his fist angrily. "wow, kim yongguk, you're denser than anyone i've ever known! i'm your goddamned boyfriend, and you're straight-up telling me you found someone new?! just because i'm dead, i have to become obedient to you?! i lose all my rights as your boyfriend?! no!"

"fine, fine!" yongguk scram, storming out into the living room. "fine then! you have no choice anyway! i'm in charge of when you come and go, i can just get rid of you in the blink of an eye! realise your freaking status, kim sanggyun!"

yongguk grabbed his coat and shoes, not bothering to put either of them on as he swung the front door open. sanggyun watched the younger boy glare at him one last time, before he slammed the door shut.

sanggyun smirked, his eyes glistening red. finally, the fun part was going to start.
