I grab my phone to turn off my alarm. Successfully, I do, and a smile spreads across my face knowing that now I don't have to hear the stupid sound anymore. I swing my legs over my bed and even out my mismatched knee high socks. Time for school.
"Hey mom." I say as I walk into the kitchen. She's making eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast. "Mom, you do know I'm old enough to get my own food, right? I'm in high school now, you know." I tell her.
"I know honey, but I just wanted to make sure you have enough to eat." She says to me in her sweet motherly voice. Although my mom can be kind of annoying sometimes, I know that deep down, I'm glad she's always there for me. Although I can't say the same about my dad. He left my mom when I was one. I still don't know who he is. Hell, I don't even know his name, not that I care, I mean, you can't miss something you never had, right?
"Thanks mom, but I can't eat right yet, I have to get ready." I turn toward the hall to leave, and then I hear her say, "I'll warm it up for you!" I smile and how amazing my mom is. I go in the laundry room and find my clothes. After hopping out of the shower and getting out of the bathroom I go to my room and grab my vans.
I walk out of the room and sit in a chair at the table and scroll on my phone for a few minutes. "Honey, why are you wearing a hoodie? It's like 80 degrees outside." I just shrug while saying, "Mom, I'm gonna be in the school all day, and it's freezing in there." I would know, the first time I went in the high school was to see which classes I had, and it was literally death in there.
"Okay. But I warned you missy." She says, putting my coldish/warm but still delicious food on the table in front of me. "Mom, you didn't have to do that, I could have gotten it myself." I say. "But thank you." I add, while digging into the food that she cooked. Oh, and I forgot to mention that my mom is an amazing chef, she works as one in a restaurant, by the way.
After eating I grab my hair and put in in a low ponytail, some parts falling out because of how short it is. Then I get my bag from off the living room chair and swing it over my shoulder. When I turn around to head to the door, I see my sister walk out of her bedroom and down the hall, rubbing her eyes in her Dora onesie outfit. She looked adorable.
"Hey sweetie, how are you?" My mom walks over to her and picks her up. My sister's name is Evelyn, and she's only 2. "Let's get you back to bed sweetie. You need some more sleep, otherwise you're gonna be crying all night tonight." She walks down the hallway and down to Evelyn's room on the left.
"Hey mom, I'm gonna go now!" I yell quietly, if that's even possible.
"I love you, have a good first day of sophomore year, Carson!" She yells back. I open the door and run out to the bus. That's when I see my friend Kassie.
Kassie was my first friend when I moved here. She helped me through everything. I love her for that. And her personality.
"Hey! Is that a new haircut that you got? I love it! It looks great on you!"
"Kassie, my hair is in a hair tie behind my head... and I have a hood on right now. What do you want from me?" I say to her.
"Can you go to the party after school with me?" A party? School literally JUST started, a week ago, to be exact. "Kassie, school just started. They're already throwing parties?" I stare at her just as she takes her hand and swings her black waist length, loose straight hair behind her tan shoulder.

RomanceI had to show the new girl around. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled about that, being social isn't my thing. Except when it came to my best friend. And when I walked in the school office that morning I thought I would regret showing her around... but...
