Chapter 11: Wait...Im confused

Kylie's P.O.V.

Jace and I both stood like statues at the door of the institute. Why was hodge looking at us like that? What did we do wrong?

"Where have you two been all day?" Hodge asked, tapping his foot on the marble ground.

"We went out for a harmless break day. Why do you look so... disappointed?" Jace asked, the expression on his face probably matched mine, utterly confused. Hodge took a few steps forward and stopped in front of us.

"I look disappointed? Is that so? Hmm I wonder why?"He said sarcastically as he stood for a moment tapping his finger on his chin as he thought, but then he started to speak again," Oh now I remember! My most talented and responsible shadow hunters are having a "break day" when they should be trying to find Clary and Jocelyn! You two have gotten nowhere! And you have been in that school for how long now?!" He yelled at us. I don't think I've ever heard Hodge yell at anyone. But to be honest, it kind of scared me.

But before we could even think about answering him, there was a knock on the door.

"Is someone knocking?" I sort of mumbled to myself. I turned around and pulled the door open. When I did a breeze of chilled air blew through and into the institute. I was shocked by the sight in front of me. I had to have been dreaming. There in the doorway stood Clary and Jocelyn, as happy as ever.

"Hey Kylie." Clary said, smiling and waving at me.

"Hi Clary. What are you guys doing here?" I asked still shocked. I felt like I was going to pass out any second.

"Oh we just came to visit and say hi. It feels like we haven't been here in forever. Can we come inside?" She asked pointing slightly inside the doors. I nodded and pushed the door farther open then it was and they walked in. After everybody was inside I shut the door.

"How are you guys here?" Jace blurted out after I walked over to his side. I was still speechless from just seeing them in front of me.

"What do you mean?" Jocelyn asked, raising her eyebrow as she straightened out her shirt.

"I mean weren't you guys kidnapped by Valentine?" Jace asked. They both looked at Jace, then me, and then at each other.

"We have been at our house and we went on a art vacation thing for a few weeks. But otherwise we've been at home the whole time." Clary said looking back at us.

"But Hodge said that you guys were kidnapped?" I said pointing to Hodge, putting all the attention on him.

"Why would you say that? We've kept contact with you this whole time." Clary said, her eyebrows creasing in confusion. By now all of us were confused, except for Hodge.

"I....I just....I can't talk right now I have errands to run so if you'll excuse me." He said quickly before grabbing his coat, putting on the hood and leaving. I just stood where I was as my mind tried to figure what was happening.

Hodge was lying to us? Why? What was the point of making us go to school when it wasn't needed? I shook my head to myself and we all went in the kitchen to catch up on what has happened in their life.

Sorry for the late update.

Again. But I'm working in my other story that close to being finished so that is my main focus at the moment but I will try to update this one a lot more.
