As soon as Dad and I got home from practice Momma already had dinner ready. "Sit! Sit! Scott you said you'd be home twenty minutes ago! Aurora sit down or your dinner is gonna get cold!" Football season always seems to put the stress on Momma.
"Sorry." Dad murmered as he took his seat a the dinner table. "Some of the guys needed extra help." Momma shot him a glare from across the table, and dished herself up some salad.
"Dadda, guess what?" My six year old holy terror of a brother Ryan spoke. "Today at school we played fooball in gym class." Dad puffed his cheeks, no matter how many times he tried he could never get Ryan to correctly say football, it was always fooball."
"Well that's good buddy, did you win?" Ryan nodded and then continued to play with the corn on his plate.
"Aurora, how many community service hours did you say you have?" Momma asked.
"Two hundred and fifty eight." Momma frowned.
"Do you think you can get it to at least 500 before we have to submit your college applictaions?"
"I'm sure I could. I got my AP math test back today." She nodded for me to go on, "And I got a 93."
"You're falling behind." Dad stated.
"Well maybe if I could study versus washing jerseys I would get a 100." Dad puffed his cheeks again.
"Try focasing in class." I hate those responces. But, reluctantly, I nodded in agreement.
After washing the dishes I retreated upstairs to do my homework. I pulled my folders and my pencil bag out of the book bag and grabbed my phone, two notifications.
Notification One: Text from Lyle: Sry for the weird practice, had an off day. :(
