Him & Her

Running that's all I have to do. Ive got to keep running. I will make it in time. I should have gotten up earlier. I round the corner, charging at full speed. I catch the bus, just in time. "Sorry, and thank you for waiting." I tell the driver. He gives me a reassuring smile, "No problem." Then i take my seat at the back of the bus. No one bothers me. Only a very small group of people seem to like me. I just sit there and look out the window. I think, and wonder what my life would be like if people actually liked me. Something hits me in the head. Its paper, i look up and i see Mandy, the popular girl at school, and the guys near her are laughing. I just hang my head down in shame. I look out the window and see the bus has made it to my friends stop. She quickly and quietly makes her way to me. Her nickname is Boo, since she doesn't like her real name. Even the teachers call her that now. She has had that name since i can remember. She gives me a smile and she asks, as always. "Are you okay? What happened this morning, and last night?" "Same, as usual." She asks me this because my dad can get a little angry at times. She elbows me in my side. I look up instantly. The love of my life, the guy I'm obsessed with, just got on the bus. He isn't popular like Mandy, and he isn't an outsider like me. He is average, with a couple of girls that think he is cute. He doesn't acknowledge me though, and i don't blame him. He is friends with boo though. So he sits in front of us, he turns around and talks to Boo. I pretend to read. I already know this whole book by heart. I eavesdrop on their conversation. This is probably the main reason, she talks to him. "Boo did you finish the project?" "Yea did you?" "As always." i can feel someones gaze on me. But i cant tell. "Whose your friend here?" She nudges me. And i look up. He is staring at me. "This is Bella. Bella this is Thomas." i smile weakly and i say, "Nice to meet you." he doesn't seem disgusted by me. To my surprise he holds his hand out to me, "Hello." I shake his hand. He smiles. I must be dead, or if i wasn't, then i am now.

They talked the whole bus ride. Other then saying hello, we didnt talk. Boo and Thomas seem to be the perfect couple, but they are just good friends. Everyone seems to know that. Me and Boo have first and second period together. Then me and Mandy have third and fourth period together. After that its lunch. The last two periods, i have with Thomas. Waiting for lunch, is really boring. It will mostly be review stuff, that most of us know. So i decide to put my headphones in and i listen to music. I hear the bell ring and I'm the first one out of class. Just to mess with me, one of the jocks grab my ass. I turnaround and i give him an annoyed expression and i slap him. On the hand, i could never hit anyone in the face. He smirks at me. I smile and i walk away. He was cute, but not as cute as Thomas. I walk into the cafeteria and i see Boo and Thomas already at the back table. I grab my lunch, which is disgusting. So i through it out and just eat my graham crackers and i keep the milk. When i sit down, i hand Boo the milk, and she hands me her, graham crackers, and a gatorade. Its her least favorite, that means its my favorite. When we are done, i see Thomas smiling. "What?" i ask, he laughs, and answers, "Nothing its just i like that little system you guys got going on." i smile and i just nod. Boo quickly gives a smile and says, "Why thank you." They get talking and i soon see that jock who grabbed my ass earlier. He plops down next to me while putting his arm around my shoulders. I blush from my neck to my ears. Then i look down. "Hey Bella, wanna go to dinner with me tonight?" i feel flattered but i say, "I don't even know your name." "I'm sorry, you used to know me, I'm Nick. Foolish me, i thought you would recognize me." i smile, then i remember him very clearly. "Oh, now i remember. Well i don't know, Nick. Um, ill let you know, ok?" he seems a bit disappointed but he then covers it up and says, "Alright, see you later babe." i cringe at the word 'babe'. I've always hated that. I look up and Boo and Thomas are both staring at me. "Looks like Nick has the hots for a certain someone..." then as if on cue they both give me a devilish smile and point at me. "Idk guys, what if its just a stupid prank?" "Take a chance, hey, Y.O.L.O!" Thomas said, i burst out laughing. "You obviously love Oreos!" me and Boo say at the same time. Then we both burst out laughing. Before lunch is over, thomas surprisingly says, "I think you should go for it. A cute girl like you, take a chance. If he messes with you call me." "I don't have your number." "check your phone." he says while handing me my phone. Then he walks away. I jump up and down once he is out of sight.
