AFTER MY CONVO. WITH EVAN, (where I explained everything) he has been doing better, but he was still very distant. Every time we would hang out he would be on his phone. I still have no idea what he's doing on there. When I want to hang out he says no because he has, "other things to do". I ask him what, but he always says "don't worry about it". I call Miya. (Like I always do when I want to talk to someone who won't go out of their way to fix the problem.) This is our conversation:
Miya: What do you want
Lottie: What? too busy to talk to your friend
Miya: I'm in the middle of a date with Ryder
Lottie: TMI M text me when you are done....
Miya: It's going really well
Lottie: I don't care
Miya: Insensitive much?
Lottie: Goodbye
*hangs up*
Anyway as bad as that went I have other resources. I talked to my friend-ish Ariel and she said that Evan was cheating on me with Lora Potter. I can't believe this! This calls for a major bestie meeting. I call the girls and we decide to meet at Starbucks. When we got there we all got our orders (Dark roast for Harley, Carmel latte for Miya, and a Double Chocolate Chip Mocha Frapp. for me.) After I told them what I heard they were outraged.
"There is no way that he is cheating on you." Harley explained, "He is way to good for that."
"Well...." Miya responded. "He is Hollie's brother."
"Ugh, don't remind me," I said.
"Again, I think, no I know you should talk to him. I mean we all know Lora is a brat, but still. Even she wouldn't sink that low," Harley finished.
"Well long story short, if this is true then don't worry. You won't hear much more from him," Miya threatened cracking her knuckles.
"Trust me if this is true then I might just beat you to it," I agreed .
Later that day I ran into Evan; as mad as can be. When I got to talk to him I accused, "Are you cheating on me?"
"No," he said unconvincingly.
"I can't believe this!" I was yelling at him as a circle of people started surrounding us. "I have done everything for you and this is how you repay me?! I thought we were a team, you and me. I guess I was wrong."
I started to walk away when I saw it, Lora's smirking face. "No way!" I thought. As Evan dropped his shoulders I took his hand, looked him straight in the eyes, and asked, "What happened?" Of course, being Evan he didn't scream or even raise his voce.
He just calmly explained, "Look Lora means nothing to me ok? She invited me over and tried to flirt with me, but I promise I stayed loyal. And I have my reasons to avoid you, which you will find out soon enough. Just give me until Friday next week." He finished with a mysterious smile. I looked at him. Now I know the truth. And even if I don't, at least I have him.
