"Hey, you little shits!" Shouted Danny as he walked up on me and my friend Joshua; an awkwardly bulky 11th grader with straight hazel hair and owl-like glasses. Things like this happened a lot. I grabbed my Chemistry book out of my teal colored locker. I slammed it shut and turned to face Danny and his little "posse."
I glowered at the four boys as I turned to face them. They all were, or stood, above 5 foot 10 and wore smug looks. Antonio, the top student in our math class. Danny, our star varsity baseball player. Kendel, the group leader (-the idiot of the group is what I like to call him.) - and Vincent; a guy from my EnglishIII honors class. I never understood why he hung out with these guys.
"Aren't you guys a little tired of this?" I gripped my curly dark brown hair and started to assemble it into a bun. "-I mean, if you want, I could go and get Ms.Greens again, Kendel?" Kendels eyebrows knitted at the mention of his mother's name. He stomped forward pushing Joshua out of the way as his face grew a deep crimson. He glared down at me, and I glared fiercely back. A few passersby's spare a glance, or two, at the situation; some stopping, maybe to get their next gossip scoop. "You piglets got me grounded for the next two weeks," He placed his left hand on the locker next to my head and leaned in, bracing his weight. "What do you have to say for yourselves." His breath smelled of barbecue and cigarettes.
I smirked.
"That I should've gotten you two more on top of that. Now, if you'll excuse me-" I slide to my left away from him and walk over to Joshua and link my arm with his as he looks around at the boys and hallway goers nervously. "My cohort and I have a game to go play. I bid you and your friends, a farewell!" I say as Joshua and I turn around and face his wall of friends. I smile sweetly at them and raised a brow. " Can you move, please? Or, will I have to make a scene and get the principal to come over here and ask you for me?" With that, the boys gave a few nervous looks to their boss who waved his hand. " Let them go. I'll deal with them later." The boys parted. Joshua and I walked by."I-I'll never get how you can do that." Joshua said as he let go of a breath I knew he was holding. His body grew less tense. I smiled at him. "No one gets in the way of our DnD sessions, Josh." Joshua looked down at me. He was five foot 10 and I was five foot 8. He coughed into his fist after his gaze lingered on mine, his cheeks speckled pink as his heart fluttered. "W-Well, let's go to the club room then."
