~Note: all Dark Hunter characters belong to Sherrilyn Kenyon.
The ones you don't recognize are my own creation.
I have the _____ because either I can't remember the word from the D.H series or I can't figure what to name something or I can't decide what to call something.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! =)~
CHAPTER ONE
"Saabine catch me if you can," cackled Cai, the evil spiritus mortis (breath of death) in a weird, creepy, sing-song voice. Cursing under my breath, I ripped my katana out of its invisible holster (gift courtesy of Acheron. Whom you'll learn more about later) on my hip and went to jab him, aiming right for his heart but missed as he dodged out of the way at the last second and I nicked his shoulder. 'Dammit all to hell", I say in a pissed off tone.
Laughing, he leaps at me prepared to breath my essence in. "Over my fucking dead body," I screech as I flip up and land a kick to his throat, throwing him to the ground. I leap up and straddle his back. Putting my one hand on his chin and the other at the back of his head, I lean in and whisper "Say hello to mother dearest for me." And I quickly end one of his lives by popping his neck -thus ending his pitiful existence...for the moment at least- and then ripping his head off -so he can't come back right away-.
I reach into my pocket and call my squire.
"Yah boss whatcha need this time?" Kyray says in a bored manner.
"I need you to take care of an S.M for me. I ripped the head off but he still needs burned. Just follow my signal," I say in an urgent tone.
"Aye aye Cap'n," she says in a sarcastic tone which makes me chuckle because I can picture her mock-saluting me. "Well get to it then," I say in a slightly snappish tone when I don't sense her snapping to attention like a good squire.
I hear a peeved "hmph" just before the sound of her hanging up.
Rubbing my temple as if I had a headache (which is impossible for a Dark Hunter), I slam my phone shut and shove it back into my pocket. That girl needs a serious attitude adjustment or she's gonna end up regretting it.
Pacing back and forth as I wait, I whisper,"Acheron if you're tuned into me, I need to talk to you...like now...please."
I hear a slight *poof* a few minutes later as he appears to the right of me (leaning very casually -of course- against the brick building with his one foot propped up against the wall, the other flat on the ground and his arms across his chest).
While he is one mysterious....being, he understands (better then most) that I don't like people coming up behind me or startling me. So whenever he appears to me, he makes sure to appear in my line of sight And makes a little *poof* sound.
"You rang?" He asked with a bit of a smirk on his gorgeous face.
"Yes I did," I say,"Is there Any way-"
"No. There is no way I can keep him from popping in and out. You know that," he interrupted me with a slightly irritated tone.
"But Ash," I say in a relatively calm tone,"You Know I could do my job a lot better if he wasn't popping in and out!"
Rolling his eyes, he pushes his black hair back away from his face. "Yes I understand that. But you know the rules....I can't "officially" help you. There's a loop hole or two. But I can't Outright help you. I can only....point you in the right direction."
Hmm....
"Well??? What is it?" I demand.
"I have to...talk to someone from my past in order to make it happen," He said so quietly I almost didn't hear him.
"But..."
"Sab, just don't forget I'm doing this for you ok?" and with that he *poofed* away leaving me wondering Exactly what he was and wishing he would trust his Dark Hunters with his past.
