Erica

We met in high school and from then I didn't think I would have ended up pregnant with his child.

Freshman year

Today was my first day of high school and I was nervous. I walked into my algebra 1 class just as the late bell rang. I took a random seat as the teacher started to hand out a paper full of rules. I mentally groaned knowing this would be a long school year.

Ten minutes later and the teacher was still explaining each and every rule. A guy ran in out of breath.

"Am I late?" He asked with his hands resting on his knees.

"Ten minutes late." The teacher grumbled.

He handed the guy a paper and the guy started to look for an available seat. He looked at me and then the seat next to me. The only available seat left. He sat next to me and took off his backpack.

"Hi, I'm Corey," Corey said with an outstretched arm.

"Erica," I said with a smile.

I shook his hand. He smiled and I turned back to look at the teacher.

Three months later

Corey ran into our algebra 1 class late again.

"Mr. Seager you're late again." Mr. Johnson said.

"I'm sorry it won't happen again," Corey said and took his seat next to me.

"Hi, Corey." I greeted him with a smile.

"Hi, Erica." He smiled back.

I was doing my work when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked to see Corey staring at me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Are you going to the homecoming dance tomorrow night?" He asked.

"Yeah." I answered, "why?"

"Oh well." He paused "I was wondering if you'd like to go with me."

"I'd like that." I smiled.

He smiled back and turned back to his work. I smiled widely and continued my work until the bell rang

Saturday night

I was nervous, to say the least. I had put on a red dress and a pair of black block heels. My dark brown hair was curled and put into a half up half down ponytail. I had a bit of makeup on and was ready to go. The doorbell rang and my mother called me from downstairs.

I looked in the mirror one last time and smiled. I walked downstairs and my nerves calmed down as Corey came into sight. He smiled wide with a bouquet of sunflowers in his hand.
