Chapter 2-A Thousand Years

Nathan's POV

A whole month so far. A whole month without seeing her. A month without speaking. A month of no Zania.

The worst month of my life! For every 30 days after the incident with Greyson I have tried to communicate with her.

Everyone is wondering about her but not one person has seen her. I've went to her home looking to speak to her but to only get turned down or told she isn't around. I've been to her job the same response.

I know nobody is mad about the incident. Grace and Haden weren't even showing the tiniest amount of anger towards her. Everyone was just happy Greyson is fine. While Zania on the other hand is putting a large bourdon on herself. We believe she thinks everything was her fault but the fact is we don't know what happened and the is the mystery that needs to be solved.

I'm on my way over to her house and this time no matter the answer I'm going to see her.

Zania's POV

Work, sleep, vomit, and sulk. That's all I have been doing for this pass month. I haven't even spoken to my help nor my daughter. I have indulged myself in so much work it's ridiculous. I made a promise to myself that I have broken.

I said I wouldn't make myself vomit anymore. I didn't do it for about 4 months but then things got to much to handle so I had to let it out some way, right?

It's amazing how I haven't eaten in a month but keep pushing stuff out of me while still managing to live.

I know Grace isn't mad about Greyson but I feel torn. I had my sisters son in danger. I was the trusted guardian of that child while his parents were gone. I broke something that is hard to regain. Trust. I don't assume Grace and Haden can ever trust me with their child, nor do I think anyone can now trust me with anything.

It's Saturday a full month since everything happened and when Grace and Haden returned. A whole month since I tried to hide from my problems.

I was laying with my thoughts. My body facing away from the door. I wasn't paying attention to my surrounding so it frightened me greatly when I felt another presence in my bed.

My heart started speeding up and I felt sparks when he hugged me. With the way my body is reacting I could only know it's Nathan. I didn't want him to look at me so I didn't face him.

"I don't appreciate how you stay locked away for a month and not once want to talk to your better half."

I heard the lightheartedness in his voice and knew he was only trying to stop the awkward tension in the air.

"Did you enjoy your little break? I would love for you to return. I've missed you very much."

He planted a large kiss right on my chest, where my heart belongs; after he turned me towards him.

Thank God I actually got out of bed to shower and brush my teeth. If I didn't lord knows he would have been gone way earlier than this.

He was silent just staring at me while I stared at him back. that's how we stayed. That was until he decided to break the silence.

"Do you want to talk about it or no?"

I quickly shook my head but then remembered that I can't keep running from my problems. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"It was all my fault Nathan. I should have been watching him instead of messing around with you. Nobody knows what happened to the boy. Now we go to the hospital and turns out I have to have a 3rd encounter with Drew Mozec. The man gives me bad vibes but I don't want to hurt his feelings and ignore his offers to a coffee date. I have so much issues right now that I've gone back to forcing myself to throw up. I haven't  ate, I've been working and avoiding people just so I wouldn't talk about my problems. Then on top of all that I have a super hot Friends With Benefits that I think I'm catching feelings for."

I finished my pour out with a big breath and looked up at Nathan watching him process everything that I just said.

"Well that was an amazing speech."

I rolled my eyes at him giving him a small smile so he wouldn't be mad about the eye rolling.

"First off it wasn't your fault. Plus even though you were messing with me, we were on a empty chunk of land. If somebody was to approach that area we would of either saw them or smelled them. So who ever did this had to have some tricks and skills. I don't like the fact you haven't been eating. You look smaller. You must gain that weight back. If I wanted chicken feet I would of gotten chicken feet but I want chicken breast and that's exactly what I'm going to have. Is that understood?"

"Yes sir."

"I strongly dislike Drew Mozec. His whole being is a disgrace to all living things. I hate the way he looks at you. I know you are a nice person but if you go on that coffee date with him and things go bad. You better know I'll be there in a heartbeat ready to kick his ass."

"Thank you Nathan."

"Would you care to tell me who is this Friends With Benefits that you are talking about?"

" Of course. It's my best friend named Carter"

I felt Nathan tense up, he clench and unclench his hands before he took in a large inhale and released a rather large exhale.

"Why are you with another man when you are suppose to mine?"

"Nathan for an Alpha you are pretty slow. I was talking about you. You are the only Carter I know plus you are my only Friends With Benefits."

"..... You had me ready to slit some throats."

I hopped on his lap smiling and gave him the kiss he was waiting for all month long.

Unknown POV

I swear my eyes are burning. I've been in this room the whole month she has been sulking. I made my self undetectable. Where ever she went I went. I finally got a chance to see her naked. I swear if I wasn't invisible and we finally got a connection I would tear that ass up.

I seen her crying and throwing up. In those moments it broke my heart to see my baby girl so hurt. So whenever she went to sleep I would be in the bed cuddling her. She never knew it but I was always there.

Today I was going to leave her be but call her to meet up with me. On my way out NCSJ was making his way in. I know he was headed to Zania's room but I wanted to see how things play out.

The man snuck into her room but she didn't notice. he even had the nerve to strip down to only his bright neon green boxers and get in the covers with my girl. Hell no!

Once she realized it was him her demeanor changed. All of a sudden she stopped being gloomy to all happy just because of him.

When they kissed my whole life ended right in front my face. I quickly removed myself from such a negative area but not before I heard him ask her to be his girlfriend and her replying yes.
