Chapter 3:

He turned away and covered his face with the sketch pad on his hands. ''S-Sorry! I-I didn't expect anyone to be here!''

I walked near him. ''It's alright I guess...'' I looked at him closely but he turns away. ''Why? What's wrong?''

''C-Clothes...'' he stuttered. ''Please put them on!''

I laughed. ''Right.. Mortals and their senses. Psh..'' I stepped out of the lake and grab hold of my clothes. ''And...what is your name mortal?''

''J-Joshua... Joshua Clarkson...y-you?'' he asked politely.

Finally I slipped into my clothes. ''Aros...''

''Aros? That's it?'' he finally showed his face again as we talked. ''And, why  refer to me as 'mortal', aren't you a mortal?'' he chuckled.

I sighed. ''Even if I explain it to you, you will not believe me.'' I met his eyes and they seemed concern.

''Well...what if I tell you I believe in all the Mythological beings up there? You'd absolutely think I'm crazy right?'' he laughed.

My eyes widened. ''N-No actually...do you really want to know?'' He nodded. ''Fine... I am Aros, daughter of Cronus and Rhea but brought alive by Aphrodite..she ends up being my mother.. And--''

''Wait?! Really?? H-How would I believe you?'' he startled. ''D-Does she look like this?'' he opened up his sketch pad and showed me a sketch of a wonderful woman with long flowing hair.

''Almost...but her hair is golden and wavey like this.'' I scribbled her appearance next to his. ''There.''

''Cool! So it's all true? Olympus? The gods? goddesses? Everything?'' he said excitingly.

I chuckled. ''Yes... I'm one on them..do you believe me?''

''A-Almost...but you'd have to prove it to me.. In anyway.'' he looked at me like I was lying.

''H-HOW? Zeus took everything away from me.... How?'' then it hit me. ''This..'' I showed him the necklace Delphin gave me. ''This is rare...only I have it..It was given by the prince of dolphins, servant of Poseidon.''

He examined it. The his eyes widened as he saw the precious gem on the center. ''T-This is...woah! But...still not believing everything yet. Why are you here anyways?''

I hid the whole 'learn-how-to-love' issue. ''I was punished from....almost destroying Olympus..'' I nervously laughed.

''Woah...'' he said in shock.

''B-But don't freak out! C-Cause I have nothing now..'' I sighed. ''I want to go home.... But..I have to find something I will never find, even if I look for it in eternity!'' I pouted.

He rolled the wheels of his wheelchair and went closer to me.  ''Let me help you...'' he smiled. ''What are you looking for?''

I chuckled. ''Love...'' he chocked a laugh and I glared which made him stop.

''You can't find it, even if it really takes an eternity!  You have to use your heart.'' he explained kindly. ''And you said you mother would be Aphrodite.... So why can't you see love? Hasn't the goddess of love helped you yet?''

''Well, I've always ignored her actions... Even done Eros' job too!....and, actually made a guy like a fellow male. And vice versa...'' I chuckled. I feel so stupid now. ''Then, Hestia said I will find someone...''

''Really? How come?'' he asked childishly. He seems like a little child that doesn't know anything in this world. Full of curiosity and such.

''Aphrodite's rose garden...''  I exhaled. ''I was going for a stroll... And one bud caught my attention, when I touched it...I glowed and...I don't know what happened really...''

''Then, let me help you!'' he smiled brightly....reminded me of Apollo's smile. My heart slightly breaks. ''Honestly, You look beautiful! I would say you looked like a goddess, but you are so.....'' he cleared his throat.''y-yeah...Will you let me?''

I smiled. ''Thank you for that compliment... I guess, you are free to help. You're the only one who believes me here...'' I paused for a moment and looked at him. ''Why are you here Joshua?''

He kept quiet and showed a pained smile. ''Promise me, we'll start looking for Love tomorrow, okay?....I don't have much time left in this world anyways.'' he smiled, hiding all the pain inside him.

Unconsciously, a tear flowed down my cheek. ''Life's too short huh?''

''Yeah...That's why I'd rather die helping someone out rather than just waiting for 'that' time to come.'' he chuckled.

Joshua Clarkson, a young man who's suffering a great illness, growing weaker every second but longing to live longer. Now I realize...how lucky I am to have lived for a thousand years. Wishing I could help him.
