Well guess who's back to writing in this after almost a year?
Yeah. Me.
Anyway, I thought I'd have a recap of what happened. I'm 100% qualified because I just spent a week actually reading this whole thing. So here we go.
Ecyn joins the Scouts. She gets trained by Captain Levi and gets beat up, but excels. She joins Levi's squad. She gets rather attached to this other cadet Dren, but he dies on their first expedition. Then Briine (her best friend since childhood) tells her he loves her, but she doesn't love him romantically back. Eventually, he also tells her he hid during the expedition instead of fighting titans. So that ruins their relationship. Ecyn goes on a tiny expedition with Levi and Hanji's squads, and Eren runs off a cliff. At this point we know Levi has a son, Petr, in the forest. Ecyn gets lost, meets Petr, and is promoted to Captain. She learns how to be a Captain, but also gets kind of depressed and lonely. She's assigned to train a new recruit (Elles), who is really disrespectful, so Ecyn visits her family and Levi trains Elles for a bit. On a field trip to Wall Rose, Ecyn saves someone who fell off the Wall and earns Elles' respect. Eventually Ecyn gets a squad together and they go on their first expedition as a team. Well, turns out Briine is a titan-shifter and he runs away, and Ecyn has another majorly traumatic expedition experience. She has to tell her family Briine is dead, but turns out her brother Caine already knows he's a titan-shifter. At this point Caine wants to join the military too. Ecyn actually gets closer to Levi when she asks him advice and stuff, and they develop something that's closer than most people get to Levi. But Ecyn's mother gets sick and dies right before the next expedition. Ecyn finds out literally while riding to the expedition. So as she tries to be like Levi and shove her feelings down, she actually gets more reckless. Levi saves her once again and kisses her. Ecyn goes to her mother's funeral, and Levi decides he made a mistake (because even he doesn't understand why he kissed her) and tells Ecyn to forget about the kiss, literally turning him into an a**hole.
Well, there we go. I realize most of it is about Ecyn because honestly she's the one with character development. Levi is just...Levi.
Anyway, enjoy the chapter as I post one part a day and maybe will actually get back into a routine of writing and posting like before.
