*dream*

"Lexi!" A menacing voice sneered from another part of the house followed by quick heavy footsteps moving away from me. I was scared senseless by this man and I had no idea why. I was hidden pretty well behind a rather small trash can that hid my petite body perfectly.

"Lexi, I'm gonna find you" it came as a whisper this time, a close whisper. I hadn't heard footsteps this time, just saw a shadow of a tall man and a knife. I saw him creep closer, like a tiger stalking it's pray. I held my breath as all went quite. Suddenly from out of no where the creature sprung at me grabbing me by the arm, I screamed as he plunged the knife towards me...

"Lexi, Lexi wake up!" Josh yelled shaking me awake. wow this boy needs to learn some manners. He looked towards me worried, I wonder why?

"Wots wong?" I whispered because it was still dark outside and that meant I should be dreaming.

"You were having a bad dream I think, it's ok tho go back to sleep now" Josh softly cooed before sneezing out my room. I wonder how he knew? Josh was like a brother to me, he was 13 and had been here since birth but I don't know why, he said he would tell me when I'm older cuz I'm only 4, he said I wouldn't understand. Josh was tall with blond hair and I loved him so much, sometimes I wish he was my actual brother then I remember it doesn't matter cuz no what we will always love each other.

I squirmed over to my side and looked at my pink barbie clock, it said 6 and 23 which is early I think, but I'm not tired. I'm not suppose to get out of bed till at least when the clock says 7 so I decide to just go back to sleep, or try to at least.

~3 hours later~

I was woken by laughter, a lot of it. I looked again at my clock and it said 8 and 07 so I think I was allowed to get up. I wriggled from underneath my covers and slipped on my yellow bunny slippers so I could go see what was so funny. I made my way down the brightly lit hallway and over towards the staires.mi stood at the banaster at the top, trying to get a peek at what was going on.

I saw a lot of familiar faces of the people who stayed here with me and a few I didn't know. They were boys that looked older than Josh but younger than a daddy. I wonder who they are? Then I remember it's adoption day! That's why everyone's so happy! There all getting families while I'm not even dressed! I ran back to my room and tried to choose some clothes that matched because I didn't usually choose my own. I put on a light blue top that had straps around my neck, some pink and purple stripy tights and my denim barbie skirt that went down almost to my feet. I grabbed my best friend, my barbie called Cat and was ready. I was about to go out when I noticed I still had on my bunny slippers, oh well.

I ran through the hallway once more but this time proceeded down the staires and towards the noise when I tripped and landed on my butt on the staires, I began to laugh as I heard my name.

"Lexi be careful!" It was my temper wry mommy Anne yelled. She wasn't really my mommy she was the lady who worked here and looked after me and everyone else so I call her my temparary mommy. I pick myself up and continue down the old creeky stair case. Anne immediately comes towards me.

"What are you wearing on your feet Lex?" She questioned laughing. I smiled and giggled in return.

"There bunni slippors!" I said with my full sass causing her to laugh even more. She grabbed my hand and led me towards the den where I noticed everyone had not gone in to. Hmm, that's weird. We entered the great den where I was greeted with 4 smiling boys. I think they were the boys that were outside but I don't really know. One of them stepped forwards towards us causing me to grip Anne's hand tighter and cower behind her leg. She gave me a calming look then smiled at the boys.
