Ch. 13 Haru's Movie Night

Rain's POV

"Alright, so what movie do you guys want to watch??" Haru asked while digging through the pile of dvd's. "We have 300, AngelBeats, Spirited Away, um blah blah blah, ooh! How about a scary movie!!!"

"You know, Aimi doesn't do well with scary movies..." Daliada said, patting Aimi's back. "Sorry, Aimi. But we're watching a scary movie."

"No!! Let's just watch Spirited away!!" she placed herself in the middle of the couch and huffed. I sat down beside her and put my feet on Ryan's shoulders since he was sitting in front of me. He looked up at me with a flat look. 

"What?" I asked acted innocent. I smiled and he shook his head, not being able to hide his smile. 

"Okay, fine! Let's watch a scary movie..." Aimi muffled into the blanket she was hiding under. Daliada high-fived Haru as he put in a scary movie, 'Don't Sleep at Night' (not an actual movie... I think). Dalianda jumped onto the free spot next to me and rested her leg on my lap. Kai was sitting next to Ryan with one arm slumped on his knee. 

"Ooh! How about we make a game?" Daliada bounced up and down. "We see who can stay watching the scary movie the longest! Whoever doesn't cover their eyes or hide is the winner!"

"And the prize?" Haru asked. 

"Mmmm... Whatever the winner wants!"

"Yeah," was echoed in the room.

"Wait!!! You forgot to make da popcorn, son!" Ryan yelled, pointing to the kitchen. Haru sighed and started to sway to the kitchen with his shoulders slumped.

"Wait!! But, what about the scary movie?? It's gonna come on!!" she whined.

"Don't worry! There's going to be commercials!!!" Haru yelled while backing up into the kitchen. Aimi started to shriek and squeal while grabbing onto my arm when there was a scary movie commercial on. She closed her eyes when a part where a man was torturing a girl with a scalpel.

"Are you sure you're fine watching this Aimi?" I asked, resting my head on hers, which was resting on my shoulder. She muffled a 'yes' and a 'no' when she heard screaming.

Haru came back out just when the movie was starting and parked himself on the floor in front of Ryan. "Are you sure you want to be that close to the TV?" Ryan snickered.

"Uh, yeah! I ain't a scaredy cat like Aimi!"

"Hey!! I don't like scary movies..."

"You said it was fine!"

"I know!!"

"Shaaadddduupp!!!" Me and Daliada yelled at them. Haru groaned and got back up.

"Where are you going?"

He switched the light switch and smirked, "To make it a bit more scary," he strode back and laid down on his usual spot on the wooden floor. 

The movie began to start and after a few minutes, it was perfectly fine, with a family moving into a new house in the middle of nowhere and the kids having a sleepover with their friends. "It's like what's going on here!!" Daliada whispered. "A group of kids, all not knowing what they're doing, and then..." she got closer to Aimi. "Boo!"

"Ahh! Stop it!" she swatted her arm and huffed. She went back into hiding in the blanket and I joined her. "Hey! Get your own!"

"No!!" I whined while gripping the corner of the blanket.

"Fine..." she mumbled and moved the blanket towards me so I could have some. I used the blanket to cover half of my face so my eyes still could see the screen, and whenever a scary scene came, I hide with Aimi.

The background music got a bit more intense, and then silence. I looked at Aimi and she looked at me, nodding as we poked our heads back up. A girl with long hair jumped out at the screen causing all of us to scream. "Move... OVER!!" Ryan jumped up and squeezed between Aimi and I. 

"Ouch! Watch where you're going, moron!" Aimi groaned. Haru began to laugh but then screamed when the girl popped up again, but this time, she was crawling slowly at first and then teleporting from here to there. He screamed and joined us on the couch.

"I'm surprised how this couch can hold all of us..."

"I'm not."

"Kai's the only one who stayed!!!" I craned my neck to see Kai and saw that he was sitting normally with his head rested on the couch, watching the movie. "Dude, how do you do that?!"

"Hmm? Do what?" he mumbled, not moving his head or eyes from the screen.

"That!! How are you not-" and cue the girl! "Ahh!!"

"Oh... I don't know," he shrugged, "I guess I'm used to watching scary movies?"

"Do you watch it with Rain?"

"Sometimes, but she's too scared," he looked at me and cooed, "My wittle Wainy is scawed."

"Shaddup, baka-chan," I mumbled while feeling that my cheeks were heating up. "You pick the scariest movies, okay?!"

"Mm hmm, okay, babe," he sighed and then yawned. "I'm tired." he began to stand up and I quickly jumped on his back.

"Take me with you!!" I whined, hiding my face in his shoulder.

"Wait!! What about the movie? The game?!"

"I already lost!! There's no point!!" I stared at the floor which had popcorn scattered all over with different movies.

"Turn the TV off, Kai!!"

"No! I wanna see the ending!!"

"THE ENDING?!?!"

"Yeah!!"

"It's been 2 hours!! How long is this movie?!"

"2 and a half hours."

".... I'm out!" Daliada and Aimi ran upstairs to their room and shut the door. Me, Kai, Ryan, and Haru were in the living room, neither of us moving to turn the TV off. 

"So, do I turn it off or-"

"YES!!" Kai placed me on the couch between Haru and Ryan, moving to turn the TV off. "Wait! You need to pause it first or else the sound will continue!"

"This is a weird TV, Haru..."

"I know, but just do it!!" Kai grabbed the remote and paused the movie at the wrong time. He paused it when the girl popped in front of the screen again and her face was covered in blood.

Ryan and Haru pushed themselves off of the couch and stumbled to go up the stairs. I was hiding my face in the armrest when it got all dark. I felt myself begin lifted up and saw that Kai turned off the TV and was now heading up to our room.

"My hero!!" I dramatically said. He chuckled and I jumped off of his back and into the bed. "Oh, bed how I love you so!!"

"You don't love me?? I just 'saved' you," he climbed into bed and turned the light off.

"I do, but not as much as the bed!!" he mumbled something else before turning around and wrapping his arms around my waist and going to sleep.

*After a few hours of sleep*

I heard a creak and saw the door opening. I sighed and closed my eyes once again, but then snapping it open when I heard someone whispering my name. "Raainn! Raaiin!" I caustiously turned my head around and was face to face with someone. I screamed and Kai bolted up.

"What?! Oh sh-" I threw my pillow at the stranger and he groaned.

"Rain! Kai! It's me!" he climbed over and turned on the light. Haru and Ryan were standing there with the blanket draped over their heads.

"Wha... Oh gosh." I fell down on the bed and squinted my eyes from the brightness. "What?"

"What do you guys want??" They smiled nervously and pointed to the bathroom.

"We're too afraid to use the one downstairs or in the hallway. Can we use yours??" and that earned them another pillow to the face.
