in harper and tom's apartment

"Tom? You home?" Harper called as she locked the door behind her after entering. When she entered the kitchen, she saw tiny tea-lights lining the hallway leading to their shared bedroom. Red rose petals littered the floor, and she followed them with a smirk, shrugging out of her denim jacket.

She stepped out of her shoes while walking. "Tommy?" She said, and heard his muffled voice shout, "In here!" from the bedroom.

There's not a doubt in my mind that I'll love you forever, and even if I don't in the same way I do today, I know I'll keep finding new ways to love you."

By then, she was shaking, silently crying, and stepped closer to him. She reached her hand out to him, and he grabbed it with his own free hand.

"And I know you told me not to propose, but, fuck, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, if you'll have me. And God, I hope you'll have me. So...

"Will you marry me, Harper Lynn Finley?"
