Time passed and we were sitting there in silence. The rest of the room has already engaged in conversation about something they saw on the television last night. I continued to face the front, thinking about how my life is starting to come back together. I had Niall back which was good. Better than good. It was amazing. But my problems came back as well. I thought I got rid of them for good 4 years ago. I guess that was temporary. Just like Niall. I glanced over to look at him. His arms were resting on the table and his head placed on them. He was sleeping. He looked so peaceful, calm and safe. He looked like a different person from ten minutes ago. He looked like himself. He looked like the boy I used to know before everything happened. He looked like my Niall. He wasn't Niall Horan the celebrity. Niall Horan who was in a band. He was just Niall. Form was almost over. I had to wake him up. I did not want to but I had to. I lifted my arm up from my side and slowly brought it to his shoulder. It hovered there for a while. Why didn't it just grab his shoulder and shake it. Before I could realise what I was doing, my hand was stroking his soft blonde-brown hair. He stirred a little bit in his sleep but a smile appeared on his lips. That made me smile. Knowing that a small act like that can make this confused, messed up individual smile makes my entire day. Who did I think I was kidding when I said I could avoid him? I can't go five minutes without him, let alone a lifetime.
"Niall?" I whispered in his ear. It felt good to be this close to him again.
"Mmm five more minutes." He groaned in his arms, turning his head to the opposite direction.
"Ni, we gotta go class. Wake up." I muttered shaking his shoulders. He gave a loud groan before opening his eyes and taking in his surroundings. His hair was slightly messy from when I was touching it. His cheeks were pale with a red line down his left cheek, showing the outline of what he was laying on. His blue eyes started to show the bit of life that hid behind them. After searching around the room his eyes landed on mine. He gave me a small but weak smile before transforming it into a smirk. He had an idea. He always has an idea.
"Let's go." His deep husky voice mumbled as he got up from his seat.
"We have lessons."
" Well, I don't know about you Elizabeth, but my only lesson finishes in one hour and I'm not in the mood to learn about anything media related." He stood there, just waiting for me. I knew why he wouldn't want to go. Everything would be about him. Everything will be about the collapse of the world's biggest boy band. I still did not know why their success ended so quickly. I want to know. I need to know. But I need to know from Niall. Not from newspapers, or the television or even my mother. I needed to know from him and I knew that would not be any time soon.
"Where are we going?" I questioned. His head shot up and gave me a genuine smile. Something I haven't seen in 7 years.
"My house." He started to walk out of the room with me no more than three steps behind him. I haven't been to his home since that day. That horrible day that made us who we are today. I did not want to go back to that house. I would have rather gone to my media lesson, but I couldn't. I couldn't leave him. Not like he left me. It was a silent walk to his car. I kept my distance from him, just in case he changed his mind. He stood next to his car, desperately looking for his keys to avoid the walk. His eyes narrowed. He bit the bottom of his lip; you could see the concentration on his face.
"Found them!" He announced proudly dangling them in the air before unlocking the car and getting in the driver's seat. I followed his actions by getting into the passenger seat and clipping in my seatbelt. It was silent at first. An awkward silence. We both knew that the atmosphere could change at any moment. All it took was one thing. One word. His hand went towards the radio and fiddled with it for a while until it turned on. One of his songs was playing. It was midnight memories. You could see the anger inside of him. His breathing increased before he punched the radio breaking it in the process. I just sat there. There was nothing I could do. Silence filled the air once more.
