Chapter 2: Driving to Colorado (Reo)

I saw Jenny on the curb with another girl that I didn't know. I was confused because she told me she was going into my car, alone...

 "Hey, Reo," Jenny said, weakly laughing

 " Hey, " I said, upset and unprepared

 "Don't worry. She's not coming with us." Jenny said, reassuring me.

 "I was about to say..." I said, grinning

"Really, Jenny. Don't say that. I am to going..." The other teen said

" No, you're not. I told you I'm going, by myself and Reo. You're not coming. " Jenny said, frustrated.

"Even if I wanted to let you come, I don't have enough space," I told her, acting sad.

"You just want her to yourself. I know people like you..." The other teen said, smoking a cigarette and she blew the smoke into my face. 

"Do that again and I'll punch you in the face." I threatened

"Do it!" The other teen tease as she blew more smoke towards me. 

So I got out of the car and punched her in the face as hard as I could. 

 "Disrespectful. Wonder why no one likes you." The teen said with aggression

 "How would you know if people like him or not, you don't know him..." Jenny said laughing out 

 "Come along, Jenny. We must go." I said proudly boasting

I opened the door for Jenny and went to my side of the car and started driving when Jenny closed the door. 

 "Who was she?" I asked with curiosity

 "My best friend, Alice. The one I told you about. Feisty and Bad seed." Jenny explained so I could remember

" Well, you weren't wrong. " I said before Jenny started laughing.

 "So where are we going?" Jenny asked

 " We're going to Colorado. " I said excited

 "That's kinda far... Isn't it?" Jenny said

 "Isn't that the point? " I said

 " Yeah, I guess so. Just don't tell my mom, ok? " Jenny said worried

 "I wont. I would never dishonor a childhood friend. Aren't you happy I got a driver's license to drive you? And before you.. Haha." I said, laughing

"Lucky you," Jenny said teasing me

"Are you happy there in California? " I said, concerned.

"Well... I was until I met Alice in freshman year." Jenny said, frowning.

 "Has she made you suffer all these years?" I said, furious.

 " No, not exactly. So has Brittney and my mom. Mostly Brittney and the cheerleaders... " Jenny said, about to cry. 

 "Why didn't you tell me?" I said, concerned.

 "Because.. You seemed so happy in Michigan I didn't want to bother you." Jenny said, with her voice breaking out.

"Bother me? You've never bothered me. I help you, Jenny. You must know, I love you, Jenny." I said finally expressed and explaining everything with those words.

soon we both become quiet before Jenny falls asleep. She was so cute when she slept, not that I was stalking her or anything I was still driving. I mean I can't stop driving.  

She woke up and we were in Utah, we were so close to Colorado. But Jenny and I were tired so we decided to stay the rest of the night in a hotel. 

~The next morning~

I woke up and saw Jenny was still asleep. So I decided to make pancakes. So I decided to go to free breakfast and bring back 2-5 pancakes for Jenny and ate 2 at the free breakfast before I got Jenny some pancakes. 

When I came back to the hotel room Jenny was awake and I gave her pancakes to her. 

 "Pancakes! My favorite!" Jenny said as her eyes out up. 

 " Enjoy, because we have to give them the keys back and start driving again. " I said

 "Oh, ok," Jenny said, still happy.

 " you're not fazed by that? " I asked

 "No, it's fine. I've been through worst.." Jenny said, eating the pancakes. 

" Ok, I'll be in the car, waiting. " I told her

while I waited I thought of us as kids again, how easy and simple it was.

" I'm done! " Jenny said, a few minutes later 

"Cool! Did you bring your suitcase?" I asked

" Oh, I forgot. Shoot! " She said

"Its ok, we still haven't given them the keys back, so hurry up! " I said, rushing her

Jenny ran in and out in 2 minutes. Then she went to give the person the keys to our room before we started driving again.

 "You happy we're going to Colorado?" I asked

 " Yeah, I hear it's beautiful. " Jenny said, as her eyes lit up again

 "As beautiful as you?" I asked

 " I'm not beautiful... " Jenny said smiling weakly and blushing.

 "To me you are, and that's all that matters," I said, boosting her self-esteem.

 "Thanks," Jenny said.

We drove for a few more hours before we reach Colorado.

 "Omg! It's amazing! You can see Pikes Peak and everything." Jenny said in amazement

 " We made it! But I'm hungry, want to eat? " I said, hungry

 "Surely!" Jenny said happily.
