Before I start I just want to tell you that this is my first fanfic ever, and my writing will probably improve more as the story goes. On the other hand I also wanted to say that the length of the chapters are going to be different, some might be really short other really long. Thats because its mostly going to be written like a diary and I want it to be as real as posible, hope you understand!

I hope you guys will like it! x

Dear Joseph,

I’ll never be able to tell you our story verbally, and I have no idea how to tell you everything in just one letter. You’re only 3 years old now, running around picking on the hens. You never catch them, but you still think it’s the funniest thing in the world. I hope you find a good meaning with your life, even when Theo and I aren’t here anymore. I hope we don’t have to leave, but I know the day will come. Also it’ll probably be here way to soon.

When you read this I wont be here anymore, I will be back in my world. I have to take care of some important things and I do not think I will ever come back from it. I will tell you what it is, but not right now. If I just tell you here you’ll never forgive me, I have to give you the whole story. From the beginning, to when I met Theo. And when two boys that hate humans with a passion found each other. And how they saved a world, while knowing their own was breaking apart. It’s the story about a selfish boy who learned to love and trust another.

By now you probably want to know when the old leather-bound book you’re holding comes into the picture, and it is now. It’s my old diary you see, and it contains my story from day one. I have to warn you though, in the wrong hands this diary may contain some really dangerous information and you have to be very careful with it. I hope, that after you’ve read the story from my eyes, you will understand why I had to leave. Maybe one day you’ll even understand why I didn’t take you with me. Because my son, my old world is a cruel place and I hope you never have to see it. After reading this book you will know where the portal is, but I beg you. Never come here, because if you do, you may never come back.

I hope you have a wonderful life without Theo and I, and that you have someone important to share it with, like I had.

I love you so much.

Your dad,

Dylan Crow
