I walked through the streets of Bronx, New York, with my head held low. I couldn't imagine anything else going wrong at this point.
Just as that thought entered my mind, something else went wrong.
"Are you fucking serious!?" I yelled up at the sky causing people to turn around and stare.
It started to pour rain, and I had no umbrella. Shit, I ain't even have anywhere to stay at this point.
I was given away a year after my birth and I spent most of my years in and out of different foster homes. Every family that I had lived with had some crazy shit going on, and I always ended up getting sent back to the shelter.
My most recent family wasn't so bad, but they were by no means good. They clearly only wanted me for the money that came with having me, but once I turned eighteen, and that check stopped coming, guess what? I was out the door with nowhere to go, and no type of money what so ever.
I walked with no particular purpose or direction, my main focus was contemplating where I was going to lay my head tonight.
Not to sound like the typical Orphan, but I also wondered why my parents didn't want me. They kept me for a year and gave me up as if I was a damn puppy and not their child.
Even though I was in my thoughts, I was still aware of my surroundings. I hard the engine of a car slow down, when It should have been accelerating. I turned my head to look, and I saw it was a Bentley that rolled up along side of me.
I didn't pay the car no mind, because I didn't know anybody who could even afford a damn Bentley.
I kept walking and the car continued to follow, so I abruptly stop and face the car, and then the tinted window slowly started to roll down.
It was a female that didn't look that much older than me. I walked up to the car.
"Can I help you?" I asked. "You need directions or somethin'?"
"No. I just see you walking through the rain and shit and was wondering if you need a ride." She responded.
"Nah, I'm good." I assured her.
The cars behind her started to honk their horns obnoxiously and she raised her middle finger high in the air on the left side of her car while yelling obscenities.
"I'm not taking no for an answer. Get in."
"No." I told her while walking away.
She then decided to pull the car up on the curb so that it was out of the way and she got out and walked in front of me with her heels on.
"Bruh, is you really out here in the rain? Go away." I said becoming aggravated with this persistent ass girl.
"I'm trying to help you." She insisted.
