It was weird waking up to a silent house. I was so use to hearing Gran cooking. The smell of her sausage or a pie beckoning me downstairs. Instead the house was dead silent, it felt cold & lifeless. Until, I heard jostling downstairs.

In a flash, I was already in the foyer. Jason dropped something of to the side. After a few moments, he came into view, looking nervous.

"Hey, Tes. I thought that you'd still be asleep. Sorry for waking you." Jason apologised as we hugged

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep. Want some breakfast?" I replied as we broke apart

"Um, thanks. But, I need to get going. Another time though." Jason said as he sweated profusely

"You ok? I think you're getting a fever." I asked as he darted away from my touch

"No, no. Perfect health, a-ok. I'll just be going." Jason quickly answered as he grabbed his bag. Sookie had finally woken up & joined us

"Jason. You're here early." Sookie surprisingly said before seeing the bag. "What's in the bag?"

"Nothing, just stuff from I left behind years ago." Jason lied as I went to block the door

"You took everything when you moved out. What's really in there?" I disappointedly asked, only to be met with silence. "Please don't lie to us."

"Thats the truth. I'm not lying to either of you. I'll see you later tonight." Jason brushed us off.

Just as he was heading for the door, Sook grabbed his bag making everything fall out. All of Grans fine silver even her jewellery clattered to the ground. Jason looked furious so I switched positions. In a flash, I was in front of Sook as she picked up everything.

"Gran's candlesticks, her jewellery. Were you going to sell them?" Sookie croaked as she tightly held everything

"I'm just taking half of what's mine." Jason feebly explained

"They were a wedding gift from her mother. What do you really need them for?" I growled, my fangs dangerously close to coming out

"I need the money." Jason replied as he tried to get closer to us. I hissed at him to keep him away

"For what? You already have a job & a house." I demanded as my eyes switched to bright blue

"Look its none of either of your business. Just give me back the bag." Jason shouted as he boldly stepped closer

"Enough. Gran may have spoiled you rotten but we won't. You're not getting this damn bag. Now get put of my house before I loose my last sliver of patience." I screamed which finally made him leave

"How could he steal from us? He wasn't raised to be like this." Sookie sobbed as she clutchted the bag

"I don't know but I'm going to figure it out." I angrily assured her, "Come on, let's enjoy our day."

"Okay, we can start by putting these back." Sook replied before giving me the bag

"Yeah before we forget." I said as we solemnly put everything away

Sam gave us the rest of the week off to grieve. While it was a generous amount of time, we wouldn't need all of it. Being alone & with nothing to do was the worst thing for us. However after a terrible couple weeks, we did need some peace. Sook actually came with me to the gym instead of staying at home. I trained her a bit, just some basic defensive moves. After half an hour, she was done & freshened up. I spent the next hour sparing using a mix of martial art styles. Sook silently watched from the side & was captivated by the bout.
