Violet's pov

I lay down on the floor of a room as Judy and the fox talked in the other room. I could see the silhouettes of them with someone else and heard the muffled voices.

I rubbed a paw against the scratch mark on my muzzle, cringing from the sting. I frankly didn't trust those two but they got me away from my dad which is better.

I perked my ears when the door opened and saw Judy and the fox walk out with a buffalo. I placed my ears down again and pulled my tail close as I kept my belly to the ground, remembering that the belly is where others mostly attack.

"Don't worry Violet. We aren't going to hurt you" Judy encouraged. "This is chief Big. He's the chief of police" the fox explained to me. "We can give her a room but we'll need someone to keep an eye on her in case someone comes to get her" Bogo explained.

"We could do it" Judy volunteered. "You sure about that carrots?" the fox asked. Judy nodded in reply. "Well then Nick, Judy. Follow me and we'll take her to the room" Bogo told them.

I figured this meant I was to stand so I got on all fours and followed them. Bogo seemed confused why I was walking g different but didn't say anything.

Truth is, my father made me how I am today. I can't trust anyone because up with him constantly training me to fight opponents who were bigger and stronger then me. He alsoade sure I couldn't walk upright by damaging where one of my back legs connects to my hip so if I were to walk normally then I'd collapse to the ground.

Bogo opened a door and let me in. I sniffed around unsure before zipping under one of the beds when the door slammed shut. "Sorry Violet. I didn't realize how strongly I shut the door" Nick apologized.

I walked out slowly and sat up. "How about we get you some clothes" Judy suggested and walked up to a wardrobe. She looked through the wardrobe with many different types and sizes of clothes.

She pulled out a black dress and handed it to me. I pulled it over my head and put my arms through the short sleeves while still sitting on the floor. Once I was done, I went back to looking around the room, sniffing at a lot of stuff.

I climbed onto one of the beds and lay down. Nick and Judy sat down and talked about something. I zoned out and tried to fall asleep but kept being woken up by strange noises that I didn't recognize. I curled up into a ball and placed my ears down, close to drifting to sleep when something hit the window. I sat up in fear and looked around.

Judy and Nick were asleep in their beds as I could make out their outlines from the moonlight that shone in through the window. I slowly padded over to the window and looked out. I noticed a pair of eyes staring up at me with strong anger. In fear, I pulled my paws back from the window ledge and fell backwards.

I looked around in panic, worrying that the owner of the eyes could get in. The only entrance and exit I could see was the door and window but what about the air vents, depending on the size of the owner. I managed to grab the window ledge again and looked out but whoever was out there was gone now. I climbed onto the bed and curled up, trying to fall asleep but those eyes kept burrowing their way into my mind, keeping me awake all night.
