Pain shot up your legs, exhausted from running. Your breath came out in ragged puffs. You wouldn't stop. You COULDN'T stop, if they caught you you'd surely be done for. You felt a pain shoot up your back. You fell to the ground in agony. They shot you. Blood pooled beneath you forming a shimmering red sea around you. You grasped the dirt beneath you, trying to steady yourself and get to your feet. Your arms screamed in protest, not being able to take the weight and strain that was being put on them.
You heard frantic footsteps and shouts approaching you. But, you couldn't move, you couldn't do anything. You fainted upon feeling the warmth of their flashlights upon you. You weren't sure what would happen to you but you prayed you wouldn't live long enough to find out.
