Society's Hierarchy

Chapter 1: Rebel invasion

A guard rushes towards Anastasia, the Princess of Karitha, ushers her out of the hall and opens up a secret passage by moving the lantern out of its position, which opens up a stairway. He begins to guide her down the stairway without uttering a single word, all was explained once an alarm sounded alerting the inhabitants of the palace to proceed with their lockdown plan. The guard lit a candle  and began to take Anastasia down the staircase. When they reached the bottom of the staircase Anastasia was met by her mother's worried face, " Anastasia, are you alright? Were any of the Rebels able to harm you? Shall I call the doctor to check on you?"  
The Princess responded, "Mother, I am completely fine; but could you kindly explain to me what is going on in the palace? Where is father?"
"Honey, your father is fine,don't worry. The palace is currently in lockdown, because the Rebels have targeted the palace and have attacked. Everyone has been taken to a different underground bunker to stay in until the mayhem has concluded." The Queen informed her daughter with a comforting smile.
Anastasia began to worry for not only her father, but for the man she loved. She was extremely worried for Ryder Black, the man she loves  so dearly, but their love has to remain a secret. No royal should ever have a lover who has a rank in society lower than The Professionals and sadly her dear love lies in the lowest rank,the rank the Rebels and the socially unaccepted people lie in, The Runaways is what they call it.
Gun shots rung through the palace and screams could be heard, until soon silence settled and nothing could be heard except the breaths of relief from the survivors. The royals were not permitted to exit their lockdown positions until notified by the royal head of the guard. Bodies were being removed from the floors and blood was being cleaned from the walls. Shattered glass was being removed and everything soon looked normal. Before very long the royal family were soon reunited in The Great Hall.
" Beatrice, my love. Did anyone dare harm you? Are you alright?" King Richard asked his wife, before kissing her forehead.
"Richard, everything's alright. Anastasia is alright too, but what happened with the Rebels?" Queen Beatrice replied.
The King looked in his daughter's direction and responded, " We shall discuss this matter another time"
This meant that they did not want their daughter involved in the matter. Anastasia kissed her mother and father's cheeks before exiting the Great Hall and headed to her room. When she walked past the drawing room she heard the  maids in charge of cleaning it talk about the Rebel invasion. Anastasia began to eavesdrop hoping that she would find out whether Ryder had survived or not. "I heard from May that the leader of the Rebels was injured pretty badly, which is the reason for their surrender."
