Once there was a cat
With fur a lovely shade of blue.
His color was unique,
And everybody knew.
Much of his life he cried and weeped;
Everyone's taunting
Made it difficult to sleep. He had to work hard for what he had.
He needed to compete.
And yet no one could understand
Just how this played hand in hand
With the color of his fur,
Which was known across the land. The color of his fur
Should not affect how people see him.
For they cannot know the future
Or hold it in their hands.
He worked to be a shining star.
He made it very far.
Despite all their expectations
He rose above par.So walk on, little kitten,
With your whiskers held high.
Don't miss the opportunities.
Don't let them pass you by.
The colors of your fur
Don't define who you are.
You one day can glow as bright
As all the shining stars.
