The End

I taped the note to my parent's nightstand and crept out. I didn't expect them to understand. They never did after all, but this was it, this was where it all ended. I walked silently down the hallway, my white nightgown billowing out behind me. I stepped into the room, the room where it would end for me and my stupid, pointless life.

The bathroom's mirrors showed a dim reflection of my ghostly pale face and short brown braids. Locking the door behind me, I silently swung open the medicine cabinet's door and grabbed all of the painkillers I could find.

Daddy always had plenty of painkillers on hand for his migraines. Maybe I was just a migraine in this world, and all it took to get rid of me was some painkillers.

I dumped a bottle of white pills into my hand and shoved them down my throat. It burned. I dumped another bottle out and felt my legs shaking as I did it. My eyes were watering now, the world was going blurry.

I moved my hand up slowly to my open mouth. I was sure this was all it would take to end it, after tonight I would never have to live with this again. I slapped my hand to my mouth, feeling the small round white pills tumble down my throat, one by one.

Suddenly, it all went dark.
