Words hurt.

Like that old scab you peel and pick until all there is left is a dark scar,

Reminders, of all the reckless words that you let wreck you.

Remember how you retaliated with silence and satisfaction

That same absence of sound left you wondering for days, weeks, seasons.

And of course you tell yourself, words can't hurt me. Words have not carved age-old wounds into my mind, my back and my heart.   Words are only said to be forgotten. History means nothing.

But words... Words heal.

That dark reminder only a figment of your sub-consciousness,

The gentle words that heal all wounds of time.  I miss you. You’re beautiful.

The unheard words of a smile.  Words that remind me of people. Good people.

Words that solve riddles sent by Gods and words that question the unquestionable.

These beautiful things, said silently or lustily, passed on through generations, evolving and entangling themselves forever in our minds.

But they are just words. Thorny, unmanageable and neglectful words.  Beautiful, soothing and nurturing words.

Imagine where we’d be without words. Without understanding and empathy and.. words. Primates.

Be inattentively vigilant of words, they make the whole world go 'round..
