The same day that I finally spoke to Andre, I demanded to be let out of hospital, which, of course, eventually happened. My parents were first opposed to it, as they had also been about helping Austin out, yet they gave in eventually, when it came to both of these things. I had found myself a place to stay, another thing I asked for, to finally have my own control over where I lived. It was a cozy studio for just one person instead of 20, in a multiple flat building instead of on top of a skyscraper, and had no security, at least not one that reached the extent of the last place I lived.

I tried to take the luggage from the car, yet Henry raced me to it, along with Andre by his side with some more boxes from the old place, which mainly were loaded with my books.

"Act natural, was it?" I raised a brow at them as I leaned down to grab my backpack, ignoring the pain from the stitches on my stomach as well as Hanna racing me to this one too, "I'm pretty sure I can function as a normal human being since I was let out of hospital guys."

Henry completely ignored me as he walked in the building, whilst Andre looked anywhere but at me. Hanna rolled her eyes at my words: "you pretty much blackmailed people to let you out, hun. Also even if you can function properly, your stitches still might pop out at this rate, smartass."

Andre smiled at me awkwardly as I glared at Hanna's back whilst she walked off in the building as well.

"Thanks for backing me up, big boy," I sighed, walking towards the building, feeling the discomfort on my whole body.

"She does have a point to be fair," Andre responded, following my very slow steps, "do you want me to carry you? You shouldn't be walking."

I decided to ignore his question: "have you found him yet?"

He grew quite for a few seconds: "he really wants to stay hidden.."

"That's not what I asked.." I replied.

"Yes, I have, but-" he replied, yet I cut him off.

"Right," I stopped in my tracks, "here's what we'll do now.."

And that's how we ended up stealing Henry's car, going straight to Luke's hiding place. Of course, Andre was against it at first, considering Hanna was probably going to actually cut off his balls, chop them up, fry them and feed them to him for dinner when she finds out, yet he could not say no to me after the state I was in thanks to him.

We drove in silence for 3 hours, me zoning on an off repeatedly thanks to the pain medication.

I remembered her smell, her clothes the last time I'd seen her, or more like the lack of them. That beautiful smile and eyes that shone very brightly just for me. That's the thing I like about people the most. The little glimmer in their eyes, it's the purest thing ever. And she had it, whenever she spoke of something she was passionate about or talked about me, the pure passion shone bright in her eyes.

But that was just a second, and when that second was gone, she was gone from my mind too.

Andre noticed me shift in the passenger seat as I popped a few more pain meds and dry swallowed them: "I think you've had enough, Ru."

I ignored him yet again, leaning my head against the window.

This action resulted in him pulling off the road and turning to me, very bothered expression on his face: "listen, I know what you're doing and it's not going to make anything better."

"And what is it that I'm doing?" I scrunched my brows.

"You're hiding, you're not talking. For fuck's sake, Ru, you need to talk in order for us to be able to help and more than anything, you're pushing away people that love you the most, giving them this two-faced attitude, expecting us to just know how you're feeling all the time, whilst we are not psychics, we do not read minds, okay? And the damn pills, we both know at this point you're taking them to sleep not to kill the pain," he ranted.
