I'll admit it.
It can get pretty lonely down here.
Sometimes I almost wish to walk up to one of those sad sacks of ink and try to communicate with it.
Not like it ever works.
All they seem to know is sorrow.
Sad.
But mostly pathetic.
They're like the type of person who you could stab and they'd be apologizing for getting the knife bloody!
Grrrr
Buncha morons.
Well.
At least I have Bertie.
Lacie was scrubbing the inky guts of a Lurker off of her robotic leg as she grabbed the scrap metal coming from its limbs to tinker with later. They wanted to try to rebuilt that bendy bot. After all, she was using most of it to hold together her own inky body. She stood up straight and tossed the scrap metal into her satchel and continued scavenging. She tended to not stray far from the park area, one reason being was all her stuff was there, but mostly her reason was because she can't leave Bertrum behind. Speaking of which, she should probably get back to him before he gets fussy. Turning on her heels she marched back to the ride storage room. She walked in and saw yet another toon wanna be corpse splattered against a wall. Stupid thing thought it could stand up to the ride? Honestly when will they learn? Lacie walked in with confidence like she owned the place. Because in some case she did. The walls of the large room were scratched and had some holes. The center of the room had the ripped apart remains of where the orbiter ride would be.
Well he should be there.
Lacie sighed and spoke loudly "Bertie get your a$$ off of the ceiling! I brought soup and scrap." She looked up at the wurring of mechanical joints moved to crawl down. To anyone else, seeing this two story ride spider-crawl from the ceiling to the floor would be a terrifying sight.
To Lacie this was just another day with her monster ride companion.
Bertrum was soon on the floor and made a mechanical purring noise, clearly happy to see lacie. She smiled back at the beast. "Good to see ya too Bertie" the mechanical monster looked down and her, the jagged joints that somehow formed a mouth looked to be smiling. Lacie walked up and stepped up onto the base "opening up, I gotta get my tools."
Now the smile fell and he grumbled "what's with that tone? We do this all the time!" Lacie glared at one of the shutters that functioned as his eye and he glared back. He was definitely fussy today.
"Look just let me get my stuff. I'll work in here today so I don't hurt your 'feewings ' ya big baby" Bertrum gave a soft grumble then huffed, opening the shutter in front of her, Lacie took her satchel off and climbed inside. Surprisingly the inside of the rise was a little roomy, well it was lined with spider web like ink and there was some blob that vaguely resembled Bertrum's head inside, but hey there's worse horrors that she could see. Lacie has a little spot in the webbing where she holds her own tools. They stay still and don't even make a sound or move when Bertie is crawling around. It's very nice. Lacie grabbed a few tools and crawled back out but not before looking at the head of her friend really quick. Since this head didn't function as the rides face anymore Bertrum hasn't been moving it much. Though that doesn't mean he can't emote with it. Because it did make a very groggy looking scowl at her. Lacie chucked and Pat his cheek. "Cute" she said before finally crawling out. She seated herself at the base of the ride and pulled out that Lurker arm and fiddled with the parts. She's collected several of these in the past. So she knows exactly how to take them apart quickly. Bertrum simply settles and watched her work. Lacie hummed a tune as she worked. The song filling the scratched up room with the stains of several inky abomination corpses. But the two beings there seemed at home in this chaos.
