KIM OTTER's POV

"Psst" Someone harshly nudged my shoulder from behind.

"Psst Ottie~" Of course I knew who it was, it was the bothering Raymond. Ever since that unexpecting night that Raymond had spilled his little secret, he had been unusually clingy and protective.

"Psst" Before I could turn around, a paper ball was thrown to the back of my head.

"Ow!" I inadvertently groaned, startling the whole class including the teacher. 'Great'

"Is there something wrong, Kim?" Mrs Lim questioned, putting the lid back onto the whiteboard marker.

I turned around and saw Raymond reading his notebook, that apparently had so much reading is that it made me roll my eyes (the paper was blank). I reversed back to face the front and realized Mrs Lim was waiting for an answer; "Uh, nothing's wrong. Just feeling dehydrated" I smoothly lied, smiling to cover up my embarrassment.

"Okay, that all good. If you need to get a drink, go ahead" Mrs Lim kindly advised, before continuing to write notes on the lightly-stained whiteboard.

I glanced at the scrunched paper on my desk and –out of boredom– decided to open it up.

Hi

This boy is going to kill me one day, seriously.

"I'm happy" Raymond announced out of nowhere before widely smoking, showing his newly blue braces.

I cocked my head, "Why?" I surveyed and dramatically sipped on my apple juice box.

"You're sleeping properly for once" Raymond stated, while leaning against a pole.

"Wait, Otter's not sleeping?" Timothy questioned, earning the attention from other people in our group.

I uncomfortably grinned and pretend to fix up my hair on the reflection of my mobile phone. "Nah it's okay now" I quickly assured, settling with a modest lie.

I sneaked into my mother's bathroom and studied myself in her transparent mirror. Currently, my mum had morning shifts at her restaurant while Lucas was downstairs with a can of bitter root beer.

My hand reached into my mother's makeup set, as it hovered over the varieties of products I could use. 'Which one is the one to cover eye bags again?' I though he as my eyes wondered across the foundations 'Ah hah!' I snatched the fairest liquid and squirted some onto my hand before staring at myself, 'What have I become?' I rubbed the foundation onto my massive eye bags,'along it less visible. Until it looked like I had the best sleep in the world, I expeditiously washed my hands before heading to school.

"Otter?" Raymond broke my small zone-out moment, by placing his hand on my shoulder.

My face briskly flustered; "Yes?"

"Are you heading to class?" He clung onto my arm and asked. "Everybody's gone already" Raymond informed.

I glanced around and realized the place was isolated, meaning all the students were in class already.

"Wait, the bell rang?" I inquired, with a confused and baffled tone.

Raymond chuckled. "Of course, coming or not, Ottie?" He said, pouting.

'How could I say no to that face?' I sighed.

"You two are unreasonably late, got an excuse for your absence?" Mrs Lim scolded, "Never mind that, we have a new student so go ahead and take a seat"

Luckily (but unfortunately), Raymond's seat position was on the other side of the classroom, letting me embrace silence and comfort. Though, my eyes would flicker between Raymond and the board, checking if he was stably alright. I guess he was doing good since he's loudly laughing with the transfer student – wait transfer stundent?!

"Who's that?" I asked the girl beside me, slightly pointing at the direction the new student who had sparkles in her eyes while talking to Raymond, but not making it too obvious that my gritting attention was drawing between the duo.

"Oh, she's Lilli Sinclair"
