I am running. Away from something, anything. I don't really know but I know I have to keep moving and moving fast. I feel something grab my arm. I twist around and see the face of someone I never thought I'd ever see again.

I jolt awake and sit up sweating in bed. I never thought I'd see that face again. Those eyes full of love, care, and protection. Those arms big and strong for protection. As I go through the motions to get ready for school that image of him sticks in my mind like super glue. It takes me forever to get ready but I eventually make my way to my bus stop. "Hey Naya! How are you?" I get from everyone. I've only been here for about 2 months and everyone loves hanging around me. The bus pulls up to the last stop, mine. Everyone boards the bus before I do like normal. I turn to go down the isle all the seats are taken except for one. I make my way towards it thinking I have a seat to myself only to find a boy with his black hood up listening to music. I ease myself into the seat trying not to disturb him. I sit down without waking him and open my book.

"Hey what ya reading?" Says a simi-deep voice beside me.

I turn my head enough to see the brown hair a little messed up and the brown to his eyes. Normally I am not very good with talking to guys but this strange boy didn't seem hard to talk to.

"The Lovely Encounter. Probably something that wouldn't interest you at all."

"Are you sure about that?"

"I am sure about it. It's romance not like many guys like romance." I say just like I've know a lot of guys which in reality I don't have any guy friends.

Just then the school bus doors opened up and everyone started piling out of the bus. I got up and swung my bag to the front of me so I could put my book inside. I walked as fast as I could off of the bus which wasn't really fast, if I was in a race with a turtle the turtle would win.
I had a morning routine. My bus always got to the school early. So I had every day about 30-45 minutes to wait before I had to get to class. Everyday I went to the library to get some extra studying done, finish homework that the night before I was to tired to do or to just read. Every chance I could get I would go to the library. When the library was closed to everyone else the librarian would let me in. We had become good friends. She was almost like my guidance counselor.

"Good morning Naya" Miss. Atkinson said from behind the front desk.
"Good morning Miss. Atkinson!" I delightfully said.
"You seem very perky today," She said, "is today special or something?"
"Not really. I guess I am just awake." I smiled at her and went to put my stuff at my normal spot.
The spot was a round table in the back of the library. I could always see Miss. Atkinson from the table but not many people went back to that area. The less people that I communicated with the better. I went back up to the front desk.

"Did you get any new books?" I asked.
"I am afraid not. I need to get rid of the old torn up books in this library before I can get more." She explained.
"What?! Books are living things. You can't just get rid of them!" I exclaimed.
"I understand your stand point but you want more books to read don't you? You've read all these books either from this very library or at your previous school." She said trying to make me see reason.
"True. But still. Some of the people in this school hasn't picked up a book since middle school except textbooks." I said.
"I know. And that is very sad but I can't do anything about it." She sad dreary.
She turned around and walked into her office behind the desk. I walked to my seat and started working on my project for my history class. I was so caught up in my work that I didn't hear anyone until someone asked "Is this seat taken?"
I almost jumped out of my seat.
"Umm.......not that I know of.." I said. My heart was pounding. I look up. I see the boy I shared a seat with this morning. Only this time he didn't have his hood up over his head and he wasn't listening to music.
"Mind if I sit here then?" The boy asks.
"Not at all." I say.
