Chapter 2: Opportunity?

Your POV

        I was busy packing my items not paying attention to what was going on around me when suddenly a voice startles me.

"You've got talent kid,"  he stated.

"Um thanks?" I replied with a little wary.

"Look I have a proposal for you," he said while I nodded signalling him to continue. "Have you ever wanted to become a music artist?" He asked. 

        I mentally freaked out like I just got asked out by my middle school crush but I tried to suppress my excitement and responded with "Isn't it obvious?" The man chuckled at my sassiness while I started to regret my existence.

"Well then I'll take that as a yes.  If that's the case then how would you feel if you were given a chance to train at another country to eventually become a singer?" He asked. 

"Wait what? Of course I'd be totally down! But I have absolutely no idea who you are so how would I know you aren't scamming me?"

"Well if I was scamming you I wouldn't give you the company's calling card now would I?" He assured while handing me a small card with  his information. "Give me a call once you've figured out what you want to do with your talent, and by the way my name is Jin-Soo, Park Jin-Soo."

        With that he left me wide eyed and walked off to his car.  I looked at the card and thought about what just happened, I was confused, excited, happy, and nauseas at the same time.  I didn't know what to think! "Was he for real? Is he scamming? What would my parents say? Will they be happy? Will Mr. Park even answer? How am I going to convince my parents?"  All these questions came in like a tsunami flooding my mind with a bunch of questions.

        Half an hour later and I've arrived at home with a smile on my face excited to tell my parents about what just happened even though I was scared about what they were going say.  I opened the door to reveal my younger siblings and my parents preparing the table for lunch.

"Oh, Y/N you've arrived we thought you wouldn't be back in time for lunch," my mother said.

"Well today was super successful, there were at least sixty people that watched and I collected more than enough donations in such short time so I decided to go back," I said while helping out with lunch.

"That's nice!  Did you receive any-" before my dad could finish I interrupted him.

"Mom, dad what if someone really important was watching and wanted to give me a chance at showcasing my talent in front of a much larger audience?" Both of them were shocked.  My siblings stopped talking and my parents looked at each other before both turning their heads towards me.

"Um Y/N haven't we already discussed this?!" My dad said while trying to control his anger.

"Yeah but that was before, I thought-"

"Y/N why would you want to become something temporary? Weren't you planning on taking medicine as a career? Even your teachers have said that you had a chance at a scholarship when you graduate high school!" My mom harshly yelled.

"Mom I'm only 15!  That scholarship thing isn't even for sure, how can you rely on that?! And isn't it MY CAREER?" I yelled back.

"Well is that company completely 100% as well?!" My dad asked.

"Well yes! All I have to do is call him!" I answered with hope in my eyes. I was hoping they'd open their minds up on this opportunity.

"You have one chance, ONE! To prove this isn't going to ruin your future!"

I was about to tell them that this company was based on South Korea but I held back because if they knew now, then they would never let me go. I excused myself from lunch and ran downstairs to my bedroom getting my phone out to do some research. I wanted learn more about the company and how they treat their employees. After an hour of researching I started to want to got to this company even more. In my eyes it's perfect. Although there was one question in my mind that was scaring me. "Will I be successful into persuading my parents into this? It already took all my power to try and get them to think about it and now this."
